El Cid was a nice place for a little R&R for a week in December.Once again Cheap Caribbean came in with a great price for our All Inclusive package. All though I did not like signing for everything we got a great clean room all drinks and some pretty decent food for our price with no extra add ons. Our room was in the three story side on the ground floor so we walked right out our patio on to the beach. hotel service staff ,the restaurant ,bar service and housekeeping went out of their way to make our stay pleasant .Thank you La Ceiba!

book excursions. Don't want to be here all day

Service and room were only good things. Luckily we booked excursions and were only here to eat and sleep. All inclusive drinks are bottom of the barrel alcohol too so make sure you bring headache medicine.

Fun in the sun!

This is our sixth time to vacation in Cozumel and we will recommend El Cid to our family and friends. You won't be disappointed to vacation here! The service is very good and the staff is very accommodating. We upgraded to a suite which was very nice to have the extra living room and kitchenette along with two bathrooms. The hotel is right next to the newest cruse ship dock and about a 7 minute taxi drive to the main square. The hotel does a good job in keeping the grounds clean and maintained. There are some pool tiles that have come loose and need to be replaced. Hopefully they take care of those types of maintenance in low season. The beach area was cleaned and raked every morning. There is a dive shop and pier on site with a large area in front of the open air dining area and beach area that is roped off for snorkeling and swimming. The snorkeling is quite good and we saw lots of fish and coral. You can rent snorkel gear for a nominal fee for the day from the dive shop or book a dive/snorkel trip. The food in the large dining area was good and the waitstaff is quick to bring you anything that you may ask for. Breakfast and lunch was often a buffet, but you could order off the menu. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel because we have our favorite places we like to eat at when we are in Cozumel. We did the pirate ship sunset dinner show and it was very enjoyable. They steak and lobster dinner they offer was surprisingly outstanding! Overall, it was a very good place to call home for a week and a good value.

Cozumel, August 2016

Another great vacation stay at El Cid La Ceiba Beach hotel! We have stayed at El Cid more times than I can count. The rooms are great. The staff is friendly and helpful. We love snorkeling off of the beach and pier. We always get all-inclusive because the food and drinks are very good--though we do like to go in to town to try various restaurants too. Still worth the cost of all-inclusive just to get water and other drinks and the meals you do want to have readily available, like breakfast before you dive. I used the spa for a massage and facial and felt so relaxed afterward.
