When we first arrived, we were so excited and looked forward to an awesome vacation. When the shuttle pulled up the hotel, from the outside looked very clean and well maintained. The hotel is a decent size and not the smaller or bigger ones. Checking in was really easy and quick with Fosstino the front desk guy. He was very nice, fast, and courteous. Our first night there we were both very exhausted and tired from no sleep. So we just grabbed a quick bite and headed to bed. We were hoping that we would be able to sleep in and rest up for the next day, we thought wrong. We were woken up at around 7:00 am in the morning by loud kids screaming and yelling next door. Then kids running up and down the hallways playing tag. And then finally the annoying phone call from Amstar telling us to come down to check in with them to setup our return shuttle (Which is bogus because we paid for our trip not signed up for some timeshare.). Then on our third night at about 1:00 am in the morning, the fire alarm kept going off for about 1 hour. I called the front desk and they said it was a false alarm and they are working on it. What's worse is that we have to get up early that morning for our early morning excursion. All the workers are definitely the most friendliest, professional, and nicest I've met. The ones that took really good care of us when we were there was Miguel (Bartender), Armando (server), Gerado (server), Angel (server), and Gil (server). The resort definitely had a large and good selection of food and beverages. The beach was very nice and shallow which is perfect for kids and weak swimmers. The outside of the hotel and lobby is clean and well maintained. But the hallway to the rooms looked a little run down. The day before our check out we checked into the Amstar desk to arrange our shuttle pickup time. The representative at the desk gave us a hard time (because he was upset and wasn't able to do a presentation on us). After the long 45 minute ordeal we got our pick up time arranged. Finally on the day we left and I went to check out. I told front desk about all the problems we experienced and encountered but he did not take and time to acknowledge it. It almost seemed like this is not the first time or he hears it a lot. If you are on a vacation with kids then this place is good. But if it's an adult trip only, then I would advise not to stay here if you want a good night rest.

February Vacation

1st they hit you with what they say a 90 tour of the resort that turned into 3 1/2 hours trying to get you to buy wha they say isn't a time share but they want you to buy into a Club ( Same thing). the $200 we got for doing this we find out was given to another couple just for staying there . They didn't have to sit thru anything. Couldn't find a beach chair during the day because everyone put things on them the night before and reserved them. Room was VERY NOISEY. You heard everything. Would have like just have a simple tour of Cancun but tours took any where from 7 hours to 12 hours and the tours were not that long it was the driving time to the location and back to the resort. Using US money was not easy. It seems they do not like American money. We don't drink alot so what we paid was alot when people there were drinking ALL THE TIME and they probably got their money worth. But who needs to drink all the time just to have a great time. Very disappointment in our stay and we do not plan on going to Cancun again .

This was my first all inclusive vacation and first time being out of the US. Overall, I thought our resort was nice and the employees were very friendly and always happy. It was super clean, the beds were comfy and it had a nice beach especially compared what resorts next door had. This was all we were looking for, so for our first time it was pretty much what we expected and we were happy with it. Some of the things we were happy with: the variety of entertainment during the day and at night was good, the food they put out next to the pool grill over lunch was the best food there, room service was good and the bartenders in the disco at night were awesome. Some of the issues we experienced were: when we were checking in they told us we were part of the "Preferred Club" so we had to check in on the 8th floor. This just ended up being them trying to get us to schedule a time in the morning to buy a timeshare. We didn't fall for it but it did waste over a hour of our time when we got there. After traveling all day, we just wanted to check in, get to our room, put our suits on and relax so we were quite annoyed to start the vacation. The walls are super thin in your room so you can hear everything going on in the rooms next door, there are 2 main elevators that everyone uses and they are slow, the beer is rarely cold, the kids pool is part of the pool with the swim up bar, there is only 1 bartender at the beach bar so you have to wait in line for drinks, and even though they had a variety of food it was not good. The most annoying thing for the men is that the women can go anywhere wearing just a swim cover up and flip flops but men have to wear a shirt with sleeves to get in every restaurant except the grill next to the pool. Some restaurants they cant even wear their swim trunks (this was lunch time, at an outside eating area) and they have to wear certain shoes, not flip flops.
