"I would have liked to see a few more "hot spots" at night, as it pretty much died down after 7 pm, but this was the most beautiful resort. Service was excellent, and the rooms were great." – gheemerjean

Great vacation!
This was our first time staying at a Dreams, but it will definitely not be the last! The resort was beautiful! We really enjoyed the food, and the fact that you didn't have to make reservations to eat dinner. Getting to release baby turtles was such an amazing experience! The beach bar service was great, and the view was amazing! The only cons were that the hotel was repainting the outside of the building we were in, so there was some noise, and that the housekeeping forgot to turn down our room half of the nights we stayed.
I was able to book a long weekend in Puerto Vallarta 8 days in advance including air, hotel, food and beverage as well as transport to and from the airport. It was awesome. The weather couldn't be beat and the hotel with private beach was nothing but comfortable. The other guest we met while there were easy going and fun.
After arriving at Dreams we were handed champagne and escorted to the check in desk. Our room with private balcony overlooking the beach was amazing. After showering our travels off we headed down to grab dinner on the veranda overhanging the Pacific Ocean. That night we mingled with guests at the various bars. Our king size bed was so comfortable that we were able to sleep in, when we awoke to the sounds of the ocean we made our way to a delicious breakfast. Coffee and mimosa's were plentiful and a great way to start our vacation.
On day 3 we went fishing and were able to land 3 50lb fish. That night the resort was able to prepare our catch for us and some of our new friends.
I was sorry to leave Puerto Vallarta but will be back for sure.
Thank you CheapCaribbean.com for arranging our trip.

What a DREAM!!
What a good name for this resort. No wrist bands of various colors so they can gauge how much service to give you. EVERYONE there was always smiling and their favorite comment was "it is my pleasure". It was Martin's pleasure to give us a prompt 6 a.m. room service breakfast. This was the first time I ever had them set the table with a placemat and arrange everything...and I have been to a LOT of resorts in my 58 yrs. All the staff were SO helpful and attentive whether you were tipping or not! Amazing.
The coffee/pastry shop was a great idea. ALL the restaurants were fantastic and you didn't need to make reservations. I only waited once to be seated. The chefs in the seafood restaurant and Italian one BOTH prepared my yellow fin tuna (caught in the Bay of Bandaras) in such exquisite recipes that I was thrilled. We shared it with other nearby tables and sent some home with the staff too! Good hours for all restaurants and no bugs-- even in the open air ones.
The concierge helped me several times -both day and evening shifts.
Pools were lovely...but chilly for me so I used the three hot tubs instead.
Loved the layout...only a little tricky getting handicapped mom to the one restaurant through the back door...but had lots of offers for help.
Cabs there quickly but not hanging around. Felt so SAFE there as their gated entrance was fast but thorough in making sure noone got in that didn't belong there.
Huge nice brown towels and you don't have to fuss around keeping track of a "towel card" like some resorts. The time share people were low key and NEVER chased us around like happened in the other place we stayed in PVR. They were there to help, but not obnoxious about it.
Enjoyed the gift shops right there and the vendors that came in on Tues. night and set up around the pool. Wish our stay had been longer...but would likely have gained more weight.
Rock climibing wall was awesome....just wish I were younger.
Ocean a little too rough for me...I like the totally calm water without waves crashing....but a lot of the folks were having fun in them.
Pointsettas were lovely and numerous. Seemed so funny hearing "it's beginning to look a LOT like Christmas" with the palm trees it didn't to this Michigan gal.
Got $$ changed close to bank rate right at hotel and they always had American change in small bills if you wanted it. No need to run out to a bank.
Used the close by zipline at Nogalito and had a GREAT time!! This was one of the highlights of the vacation.
All men employees were VERY friendly without being flirty. All in all I give it an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.
great resort but don't get caught in the timeshare wars!! the staff at dreams were downright aggressive when they suspected (rightly) that we had been lured to another resort for presentation. To us, the time vs. gifts equaled an ok deal, but being stalked by dreams staff to try to dissuade us actually led to us trying to "hide" from our concierge!!! Some repairs were underway which led to a little inconvenience but is understandable in a resort this size. The restaurants...well, the food was often outstanding but overall quality was a bit uneven. It seemed a gamble whenever we ordered. For example, the Sea Bass at Oceana was wonderful but the Mahi-Mahi was tough and dry! The steaks offered at the Seaside Grill "steakhouse" were not at all up to par but I suspect the burgers were outstanding. The World Buffet had some great offerings but again, the quality was not something predictable.
Service was great...friendly and helpful staff (as long as they were not involved with time share business)...be sure you are ready to tip.
Beaches and pools were beautiful, accessible, and enjoyable. The view from our room exceeded all expectation! Rooms were comfortably appointed and maintained well.
I just wish staff had taken more time to acquaint us with the offerings/schedule of the resort, rather than applying their efforts to selling time shares.

There are gorgeous beaches in Puerto Vallarta, the Riviera Maya, in Jamaica and in the Dominican Republic if you're looking for an all inclusive resort. If you're traveling with children the Dreams resorts a great family friendly option for a really reasonable price!

I cannot speak from personal experience but I do know that over the course of four days at Dreams Resort in Puerto Vallarta there were 4 beach weddings. They looked lovely and as if they were having fun.
STR0829
There was a wedding while we stayed at Dreams PV and it looked to be about the size you claim. It was quaint and looked charming. The service was overlooking the beach but was also along the main pathway to the rooms (about 15 feet away from sidewalk), and the reception took place along the more secluded pool. It did begin to thundershower during the party but almost the entire reception ended up jumping in the pool during the rain since everything was soaked instantly. They ended up moving the reception to the sports bar but I am unsure how it went from there. I just happened to have a room that overlooked the action. My suggestion is to find a resort with less children in it for a wedding. It is a special day and there are a lot of young children running around the resort at Dreams. Best of luck!

Dreams Puerta Vallarta is a perfect place
timber
Dreams has a nice little gazebo overlooking the ocean and the cliff on the righthand side of the property (in front of the old tower). That would be the perfect size/location on property for your destination wedding. Otherwise, they'll also set up weddings directly on the beach in front of Oceana Restaurant. I wouldn't recommend a wedding in front of the new tower, as it also is in front of the "Adults Only Pool" and I've seen people (other guests) interrupt the wedding from the pool with yelling and whistling.
JanineR
We stayed at Dreams of P V, for 6 nights and witness 8 diffrent weddings and talking with some of the guests they all seemed to have a great time. the resort took very good care of their needs. The location for the weddings were fantastic. Only problem we thought was the humidity and heat, even at sunset it was quite warm out.
amilas
I was just at Dreams Puerto Vallarta and there were multiple weddings during our stay. Everyone looked like they were having a blast. The private beach at the resort allows you to enjoy your day without seeing vendors.

Is there a place to surf nearby?1 answer

Niner
Dreams is situated on a secluded part of the shoreline with not much surf. We carry other properties that have better surf right off of their beaches. If you would like to discuss some those alternatives feel free to call one of experienced Beach Experts.

Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa overlooks a warm, white-sand beach, where guests enjoy the natural shade of thatched palapas; stop by Marlin, the beachside bar, for the Unlimited-Luxury® of premium brand drinks, or savor the experience of catching a film on the big screen in the evenings. Guests who prefer the sand-free option find the three pools much more to their liking. Two of these three magnificent bodies of heated, fresh water are interconnected by a waterfall, and offer thirsty waders a swim-up bar for a pit stop and a cool beverage.
This Unlimited-Luxury® resort is also home to Dreams Spa by Pevonia. Guests will discover facials that integrate therapeutic plant extracts, aromatherapy massages and the Salt Glow. Melt your cares away in Absolute Serenity, a reparative therapy that includes a lily wrap, an after-sun facial and a deep-tissue massage. Or take advantage of the Romance in Paradise package for two.
Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa takes care of hungry pangs with six restaurants, including the beachside Seaside Grill, the adults-only Portofino and the saltwater delicacies of Oceana. Then take in some lively entertainment at one of Dreams' six bars, including the live entertainment of Rendezvous. Just remember that this is Jalisco, so be sure you try at least one of the 60 tequilas at El Patio.
Finish the day as you should, in the cozy comfort of a Deluxe Ocean View Room staring out at the Pacific, pondering the possibilities of tomorrow, listening to the music of the surf playing against the sand.
