Great time

We had a great time at this resort. The food was excellent, there were a lot of options for restaurants, and at the buffet they offered a variety of traditional Costa Rican foods -- which was nice to be able to try. I was impressed with the food at the restaurants. Some nights they were so busy that the service wasn't excellent, but besides that it was nice. One thing I did notice is that their liquor seemed to be watered down. I'm a one/two drink max type of girl. I could drink 10+ drinks at times and never feel even the slightest buzz. We did a shot of Jose Cuervo and it definitely tasted watered down. If you're going to offer an all-inclusive experience, that should include liquor. The other thing that I thought is MAYBE they used the cheap cheap bar liquor and filled the name brand bottles. I was a bartender for 10 years and I can tell the difference. Best bet is to stick with beer & wine as I don't believe those can be watered down. :) Besides that, the people on the beach (who are not affiliated with the resort) were rather pushy, but it was OK. The pools were gorgeous. The grounds were gorgeous. We spent 4 nights and 5 days there and it was a really great time. Not too short, and not too long. One other thing is there's really no nightlife. They have a disco which is 99% empty every night. Maybe a random straggler or two just checking it out. They do offer things to do at night, but mostly there's nothing going on. Lucky for us, we went for pure relaxation so that was not a problem. We did really enjoy ourselves.

They just don't get it

I will preface this by saying we have stayed in SANDALS BEACHES resort's until kids were all considered adults. THEY were GREAT!! The transportation to and from the resort was very efficient THEN when you arrive at the resort they POUNCE with the JOIN a VACATION CLUB be ready it's HIGH PRESSURE for 2 hours until you tell them NO I CAME HERE FOR VACATION I DON'T WANT IT! POOL'S nice good activities but the water was way to warm in the 90's!! Ocean VERY NICE WATER was in the high 70's low 80's very refreshing. not the best for snorkeling vision was limited. rooms were nice clean and well cooled. ACTIVITIES were plenty and kids had fun participating. Restaurants had a nice selection good food BUT OMG took forever to get food 4 dinners took 2.5 hours each for a family of 5. the other 3 dinners took about 1.5 hours not to bad. Got most of what we ordered but never got everything we ordered! Power outages were daily worst day had 5 outages! You could depend on at least 2 a day! NOW for Costa Rica itself VERY VERY EXPENSIVE THEY WANTED MORE FOR THEIR PRODUCTS THAN I WOULD PAY FOR THEM IN THE STATES BY ALOT!! I showed them prices for the same products on line and they had no reason why. YES i BARTERED with them and walked away ALMOST every time, ended up going to Nicaragua and finding the same knick knacks and gifts for friends for alot less money. The HOTEL GIFT STORES ARE JUST SILLY with their prices. Overall trip was pretty good but not going back. NOPE NO WAY!

Amazing facilities and room. Clean in the cleanest country in Central America! Food ok but dress code in casual breakfast World Cafe enforced to the point people are turned away which is stressful. People who were dressed properly. Pools could be cleaner and entertainment could be better. Gym super stinky and spa prices way too expensive. Only two working bicycles in kids club but kids club is amazing. My kids didn't want to do anything else but stay there. Overall, great vacation.
