Need to get away from real life? Park it under a palapa and kick back at Dreams La Romana Resort & Spa, where Unlimited-Luxury® all inclusive perks mean the family gets maximum fun. The resort sits on the warm sand of popular Playa Bayahibe, where the coral-reef-protected beach offers calm surf for the kids. We stayed in the cheapest room they had. When we got there they offered us an upgrade to a preferred room but it was not necessary. The room was clean, neat and had very nice amenities.
The food options were plenty and all the food we had was good. We are from the New York/New Jersey area and are pretty spoiled with some of the best food in the country. I was concerned because some of the reviews said the food was bad but I was happy with all of my food choices. The hamburger is not the same as an American burger but it was still fresh off the grill and tasty. The Bourdex restaurant was our favorite. The steak is amazing. The worst thing I ate the whole trip was a ceasar salad, it had too much dressing. We did the World Cafe for breakfast everyday and we were never disappointed.
We flew into Santo Domingo and it was an hour and half to the resort (non-stop) but we enjoyed seeing the countryside and driving through the town of La Romana. The beach was clean and the snorkeling was pretty good right off the beach. We took the boat trip to Catalina Island. A must do. The Coral is beautiful and the fish are plenty. The beach there is nice too.
We were so impressed with the staff at the resort. They were all friendly and accommodating. I was amazed that most of the staff could speak English, Spanish, Italian, French and German. We never went without and we were spoiled everywhere we went.
We would go back again! Great trip and we had the perfect amount of rest and entertainment.
Wonderful resort. Staff was so nice and everything was great and very relaxed. There is a lot of variety in the restaurants so if you're not happy with one there is a lot to choose from. We spent 10 beautiful days with a couple of excursions (Santo Domingo tour and Catalina island). We were there from 4/15 - 4/26 and the weather was awesome..it only rained the last day. I would go back and recommend this resort to anyone.

I would definitly recomend this property! We had a lay over out of Miami, but it was short and well worth it, as it broke up the travel. If possible I would look at airfare to La Romana as the airport is closer to the property... about 10-15 minutes... vs. Santo Domingo, which is 1 1/2 hours away. We booked our air/hotel/airport transfer all at once via cheapcarribean. We looked at other air options outside of the packages, and cheap caribbean really did have the best options.

Friend
Yes it does include unlimited alcoholic beverages.
ckmk
The all inclusive does include alcohol beverages from daily specialty "Island drinks" both alcohol and without for children or adults who prefer no alcohol. Liquor choices included "top shelf" options, and we were very impressed with the selections.. we were drinking Absolute and tonic. Bars were opened at 9am .
ANPC
Yes. The all inclusive provides all drinks, water, soft drinks, wine, mixed drinks and anything else you can drink.
travelone
Yes - however bottles of wine are not included. But glasses of wine are, along with beer and any mixed drinks
MrsGreen
yes...all food and alcoholic beverages are included! Dreams resort even included champagne at the bars, which I had never seen before at an all inclusive.
webs2
Yes, and they have Absolut, Stoli, Bacardi, Jack, etc. Plenty of beer, but mainly Presidente.
BigBM
Yes. All inclusive usually means that food and drinks (even alcoholic drinks) are included.

Hi Heather. In case nobody has answered your question yet (I see its been almost 2 months) the answer is yes. We just got back and it is a great place that I would highly recommend. But anytime you read "all inclusive" it means alcolhol as well. At least that has been my experience. And it wasn't limited to certain types of alcohol, they had it all.
DrBuddha
Yes it does include alcoholic beverages. As much and as many as you wanted

What are some of the better resorts that offer a water park and pool area for children 4 & 6 years old?1 answer
4 months ago
Andy
There are a few resorts that feature a water park right on property. The El Conquistador in San Juan has the Coqui water park on site, however that is at an additional cost. The Sunset Beach Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica has a water park that is included in the all-inclusive package for the resort. The Sunset Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios features a large, Lighthouse Waterslide. There are many other places that offer great kid's clubs and activities as well.

The Explorer's Club for Kids is for children ages 3-12. The hours of operation can vary according to the time of year and occupancy levels, so it is best to check with the front desk at check in for the hours of operation during your stay.

Round trip airport transfers are available for purchase from Cheap Caribbean or you can get a taxi from the airport.

We took the shuttle offered through cheapcarribean.com. It wasn't as long as I had anticipated and was quite an adventure..not a bad thing :)
DTowner
We booked a private transport from the airport to the resort. We booked it through Cheap Caribbean and it couldn't of been easier. I did e-mail the transport company 2 days before the trip just to make sure everything was all set and they got back to me via e-mail in a timely manner with helpful information. The company we used was Olympic tours.
