Not a "Dream"

If you are visiting Panama, please do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. This resort was absolutely terrible. From the customer service to the food. Bad bad bad. The only pro's I can give this location is how beautiful it looks and the cozy beds. Other than that, nothing else. Pros: -Beautiful grounds -Cozy rooms -All rooms have an ocean view (don't be fooled into upgrading) - Only three workers were nice....Sanchez & Jorge (by main pool) Zara (by preferred pool) Cons: -Lack of food and the food available was always served cold -NO ENTERTAINMENT - A few nights there was a singer in the lobby but once 11pm hit, NOTHING TO DO. Even the club was a pure dud. - My room was cleaned once in five days. I use the term cleaned lightly. The only made the bed, left two additional towels and didnt take the dirty ones. Never restocked the fridge - BUGS GALORE. I came home with my legs, arms and back full of sand fly bites. - Preferred pool was filled with dead bugs floating - Bars dont open until 11am and close at 6 unless you go to the lobby bar which closes at 11pm as well - Three restaurants but two had the same 6 things on the menu everyday. The other charged $30 if you werent a preferrable member. - Beach was horrendous. Dark, dirty and extremely rocky Bottomline: for the value I would have preferred going elsewhere even if it was all inclusive. With this place I got less than what I paid for. Such a shame.

Beautiful resort on the beach

This was a beautiful resort right on the beach. We had a partial ocean view in the reservations but received a full ocean view along with a pool. Excellent service but wish more of the staff had spoken English. Not a ton of restaurant choices but the food was delicious in all, except we didn't go to the French restaurant since we didn't pack nicer clothes. The bartenders, especially Nathaniel, made amazing drinks. They had a complimentary jungle hike near the resort but we didn't go since I didn't have the right shoes. Bring hiking shoes! I do wish the resort was bigger but I made the best of it. You needed to take a taxi or Uber to Panama City, with Uber being a MUCH better deal, but had to take a pricier taxi from the city back to the resort since couldn't get on the Uber network or there were no available drivers. Be watchful of the taxi drivers and don't let them scam you. Oh, you couldn't view the sunrises or sunsets from the beach since it aimed the wrong way. Anyhow, would recommend this resort for at least part of your stay.

Not what we expected.

We bought the trip to Panama as something different. The price was a deal - $2400 for 8 day all inclusive. The pics on the website were great. However reality set in once we were there. When we first walked in we knew the hotel was older, but we were OK with that. However the greeting was less that inviting. We had to take our own luggage to our room (bell man forgot). Most days we had to call to get the maid to make up the room - sometimes as late as 3pm.The food options were limited to 4 restaurants which were not all open at the same time. The food quality was OK. The biggest letdown was there was absolutely nothing to do here - perfect if you're looking to go and do nothing but chill. There were no activities, no clubs, no shows, no entertainment whatsoever after 10pm. The only entertainment was a lounge singer in the bar and a really lame "disco" in the basement which was nothing more than 80's videos. The pools were nice and big, but no one came to ask if we wanted drinks. We always had to go to the bar. Overall, this was not what we expected and wish we did more research. Several of the people we met actually left the resort and went into town just for something to do. If you are looking for laid back, chill and relax - this is the place for you. If you are a couple looking for some fun and excitement I suggest you look elsewhere. The highlight of the hotel was Roger. He's an awesome bartender at the inside bar who waits on you hand and foot!!!

Great Value

They were in the transition period when my girlfriend and I went, and are definitely understaffed. The people are extremely nice, but they can only do so much when stretched so thin. Room service took forever, but the employees took care of us extremely well. We unfortunately got sick while we were there, which was from our layover in Mexico. They paid special attention to us to make sure our sickness didn't ruin our vacation. Extremely nice people. The beach looks nice but the water is hiding an abundance of rocks which my foot got cut on. Overall I would go again in a heartbeat if I would be fired. Of your thinking about it I would say yes!!! Go!!! You won't regret it. Some of the restaurants are closed depending upon how full the hotel is on any given night. The weather is perfect.
