resort and flight

The Resort was great , bech was awesome. The only problem we had was our flight. We were supposed to leave on the February 20th but the flight was cancel our of Dulles airport. Could not get on another one until the next day. That ws Delta, we were finally put on united the next day. I paid for Feb 20 2016 through February 26 so we lost one night and not even got credit for it.

Amazing time!

Went there for our honeymoon - 6 days / 5 nights. And we had an amazing time! The beach was PERFECT. The pools are great too. The staff was friendly and courteous. We enjoyed our time very much and would have loved to stay. The food was good, but the service took a long time ("Island time" ) but staff was friendly and accommodating. We went with an all-inclusive package and I highly recommend it or everything would have felt expensive. Our favorite drink is the Guavaberry colada. They make it really good. We'd like to return there. And day trips to town - very easy and accessible. We highly recommend visiting the beach by the airport to watch planes land. It's such an experience!

Awesome vacation!

This was a wonderful resort and was on the best beach on the island in our opinion. The resort was clean. The people were friendly and always met our needs. The food was excellent. There were not as many restaurants as most all-inclusive resorts but there was a delicious breakfast buffet at Pure Ocean and then we normally returned there for dinner. The meals offered at Pure Ocean were top notch with steak, lobster, mahi mahi, lamb, and other 5 star restaurant choices. We did not eat lunch often because we were so full from breakfast but the food offered at Gizmo's for lunch was great when we did eat there. The drinks were delicious and the bartenders were lots of fun and always ready to whip up something special. My husband is a beer drinker and was pleased that it was bottled beer and not from a tap as is typically with all-inclusive. We had rented a car and explored the island on several days trying out all of the beaches and realized that our resort was on the best beach on the island. The sand was soft and without rocks and the waves were nice without being too overwhelming. There was snorkeling to the left side of the resort and during the day many excursion boats stopped there but in the morning and evening you have it all to yourself. The snorkeling is OK but not great. There is actually a better spot if you follow the beach to the right and swim out to the point. It is a long swim but we bought noodles in case we got tired and that worked perfectly. The nightlife is a little slow but we were there during the slow time so that is to be expected. We normally stayed at the beach from sun up until sun down so we ate dinner late and didn't need a lot of late night activity anyways but if that is what you are interested in that could be a disappointment. Overall it is a perfect place to stay. I have been to many all-inclusive resorts in many places and don't ever return to the same island or resort by choice but this is the first place that I am seriously considering returning to. There were only 2 things that I didn't like and they were not big issues, First, there was not a mirror anywhere other than the bathroom so it was hard to get ready while the other person was in the shower. Second, every bar/restaurant/water sports transaction had to be signed off on. Most AI resorts do not do this but since not everyone there is AI you must get a bill and sign off. The bills were marked AI and no additional charges were added at check out but it is a little bit inconvenient. Also, rent a car because it is more cost efficient than using a taxi service and the roads are pretty well marked.. Go and enjoy!!!

Overall a good experience

Just returned from a 5 day all inclusive visit to Saint Maarten and the quaint Divi Little Bay Beach resort. This resort sits on a little finger that has surrounded on both side by beautiful views and gorgeous water. Upon arrival the staff greeted us with smiles and laughter and really made you feel at home. The front desk upgraded our room to one of the 1 bedroom time share units and it was very comfortable and new. Only drawback was a big palm tree right in the view of the ocean. The entire stay was truly wonderful except for the dining options which i felt were pedestrian at best. Because we had already paid for the all inclusive plan we felt "obligated" to stay on property to dine. Gizmos bar and Lisa who was the F&B supervisor was the highlight of a very poor food week. Overall i would give it 4 stars because of the resort itself and easily 5 stars with better food options. I will return

Divi Little Bay Beach Resort: Escape to Your Romantic Getaway

You'll be enchanted by the setting of Divi Little Bay Beach Resort, located on a private peninsula between Little Bay and Great Bay. Surrounded by shimmering blue waters and fronted by a charming beach, this spot is made-to-order for romance. Grab your partner's hand and head to the beach for activities throughout the day. Strap on a mask, fins and snorkel in order to check out life below the water's surface.

Or, for a more relaxing experience, you can visit the spa instead. Flickering candles cast dancing shadows on the wall as you're guided by a therapist through each step of an instructional massage session designed for couples staying at Divi Little Bay Beach Resort on St. Maarten. "The Art of Touch" is just one of the treatments at Indulgence by the Sea, the resort's spa.

Treat your lover to a candlelit dinner at the beachfront restaurant, Toucan's, or choose an outdoor table just a few feet from the water's edge. Try the snapper for dinner, and you won't be disappointed. Candlelight, moonlight and the crashing of the surf make Toucan's a dreamy place for sweethearts.

Whether you stay in one of the beachfront guestrooms or in a hilltop suite, you'll feel privileged to be staying at Divi Little Bay Beach Resort. St. Maarten, morning coffee and a gorgeous view of Little Bay or Great Bay from the comfort of your private patio or balcony is a great way to start the day.

This island is a perfect choice not only for romance, but also for adventure. Follow the cobblestone path from the Divi shopping promenade up the hill to Fort Amsterdam, built in 1631, to take advantage of the historic and cultural heritage around the resort. On your way back down, stop by the Tijon Parfumerie & Boutique for a class on luxurious fragrances and to create your own scent as a vacation memento.
