Consisting of six oceanfront acres, The Curacao Marriott Beach Resort and Emerald Casino offers a tranquil ambience of seaviews and gardens and welcomes both couples and families. Washed by the turquoise sea, 300 yards of beach with thatched shades flank a rocky oceanfront section. A watersports center rents kayaks, personal watercraft, and small sailboats and offers snorkeling and diving trips. A central courtyard has a free-form pool about 100 by 100 feet and a children's pool. Two other courtyards contain cross-shaped, 20-person spa tubs in wooden pavilions that shade lounge chairs on surrounding decks.

Unlike many resorts that close their pools at sunset, this resort's pools remain open to 11:00 pm and spa tubs can be used around the clock.

A 5,000 square-foot casino with a huge crystal chandelier and mirrored walls opens for slot machines in late morning. Blackjack, Caribbean stud poker, roulette, and craps tables are open from early afternoon to closing at 3:30 AM.

A fitness center offers cardio, weight machines, and free weights, while the spa offers steam rooms, spa tubs, a room for massage, reflexology, body wraps and scrubs, facials, and waxing. A beauty salon offers hair and nail care. Shops sell beachwear, gifts, specialty foods, wine, and beer. A business center contains computers with high-speed Internet connections (surcharges).

Supervised activities are offered for children ages 3-12 in an air-conditioned clubhouse, on a grass playground, and around the pool (daily surcharges). Complimentary adult activities include dance lessons and a Wednesday night cocktail party.

A recently completed Beach Enhancement has removed the rocks and coral that the winter currents have brought in, as well as increasing the beach area by adding many tons of sand. 40 metric tons of it! Using the dredged stones, a sandy deck has been created in front of the Sea Breeze swim-up bar and grill. The beach expansion also includes the additions of new beach chairs and umbrellas as well as an authentic surfer-themed beach bar named the "Board Room," offering patrons an even more enjoyable experience "The Board Room" opens in the late morning and closes after sunset. Additional beach attendants provide enhanced service and a new beach comber cleaning machine will increase the cleanliness of the beach.

The Curacao Marriott Resort & Emerald Casino is 100% smoke-free. Guests staying at the Curacao Marriott Resort & Emerald Casino will not be able to smoke inside enclosed areas of the hotel building. This policy includes all guest rooms, indoor restaurants, lounges, meeting rooms, public spaces, and employee work areas. Guests will still be permitted to smoke in the open air restaurant and lounges.

RESORT UPDATE 9/21/09: Please note that the pool wil be closed for renovation from November 16, 2009 through December 6, 2009. Guests staying at the resort will be able to enjoy complimentary access to the pool at one of the sister hotels next to this property where they will receive a complimentary welcome drink. The beautiful white sandy beach will also be available for their enjoyment.

Building is in Dutch-colonial style, with a yellow exterior, white balustrated balconies, and a red tile roof. Rooms include balconies or ground-floor patios furnished with chairs and cocktail tables, air-conditioning, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and cable/satellite TV.

Ivory-colored furniture includes a desk, a table, and an upholstered chair. Sheer white drapes, gold-and-red carpeting, yellow walls, and a powder-blue accent wall create a contemporary-tropical look. High-speed Internet access is available for a surcharge. Hurricane Policy: Marriott International will once again ease wary summer travelers' concerns with "Marriott's Caribbean Travel Interruption Promise", protecting guests, and their precious vacation time, against the threat of a hurricane.

Guests holding a confirmed reservation with a nonrefundable deposit who are unable to travel to the hotel where they hold a reservation due to an airport or the hotel's closure related to the hurricane, have the option to choose either a full refund or a one-category room upgrade on their next visit to the same hotel within 12 months. These two options apply to room-only rates, promotions and packages. Reservations for comparable accommodations will be made on a space-available basis. This policy does not apply to delayed or cancelled flights due to severe weather or other conditions for any reasons except as identified above.

Guests who are registered at the resort whose stay is interrupted by a hurricane which directly hits the property (as defined and validated by the U.S. National Weather Service) will receive a certificate for a complimentary three-night return stay valid for two years from their original travel dates, including room and room tax.
