The property is a self contained resort with one of the best beaches in Barbados as the back drop. Every suite accommodation has been finished to an incredible standard. The resort has recently added the Village section, and with the brings several new restaurants and entertainment options.
What I wish I
could change:
The beach while beautiful does not have a gentle ocean. The waves are quite big. On the upside, there are several great swimming pools.
Why YOU should
go:
If you want elegant accommodation, a huge beach, and some nice restaurants, this is the place to go. You will need a car. Be sure to check out the Gospel brunch and the Asian restaurant, Zen.

The Crane Resort and Residences, renowned for its unique cliff top setting on one of the most beautiful pieces of beachfront in the world, on the Southeast coast of Barbados, holds the distinction of being the island's oldest operating hotel. Now transformed from a very small property into a first class resort, The Crane maintains its historic and intimate feel.
Awarded the 2008 prestigious AAA Four-Diamond Award, joining the ranks of three other premier properties in Barbados. Priding themselves on warm Barbadian hospitality, the hotel's management and staff have placed increasing emphasis on service over the last number of years and are pleased to announce that, along with the concurrent product development, these training and development efforts have been rewarded with the AAA designation.
While Crane Beach has long been recognized as one of the best beaches in the world, The AAA Four-Diamond award is added to a growing list of accolades that the resort has received recently, including the Pillar of Tourism Award in 2007 and the Top Restaurant - Food in the Best of Barbados Zagat 2009 Guide for Zen restaurant.
The essence of "The Crane Experience" is a combination of spectacular natural beauty, a casually elegant atmosphere and warm, friendly service that harks back to The Crane's earliest history of hospitality.
The Crane Resort & Residences caters to a variety of clientele, for business or leisure, and is particularly well suited to intimate weddings & honeymoons. Wedding, romance and honeymoon packages are available year-round.

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE: New for 2009 - The Crane Village, inspired by the heritage architecture of bygone Barbados and steeped in trusted Crane quality, The Crane Village, opening early 2009, is expected to become the new heart of this resort community. This charming town centre, set amongst tropical landscaping, will feature a new reception area, D'Onofrio's for fine Italian cuisine, the Village Cafe or a full cafe menu and the best fresh bread in town, and Bar 1887, a traditional bar where guests will be encouraged to join others in the community for a sip of rum. For Crane people wishing to enjoy superb shopping, they can now stay put and enjoy 3,000 sq. ft of Duty Free shopping, browse for fabulous resort wear at Dingolay Boutique, take home a memory from The Crane signature store, artisan boutique, or art gallery, or keep their fridge fully stocked from The General Store. Guests will enjoy a state-of-the-art fitness centre with fantastic views of the cliff pools and sea beyond and pampering in the two new spa treatment rooms. Also available will be the Town Hall meeting and function space, offering just under 3,000 sq. ft. of flexible space for meetings, receptions, and private functions. This multi-million dollar renovation is nearing completion and most work is now being done inside as to not interfere with the guest's experience.
