Couples Tower Isle Jamaica

We loved our stay at Couples Tower Isle. Jamaica is a very beautiful place and one I would recommend to people that enjoy a good time. It is not a place that I would recommend for some of my friends that prefer to vacation without seeing a little poverty. Jamaica has its share of poverty and you get a small taste of it when you go on the shopping tour. The Jamaicans can be very assertive. They will shake your hand and try to drag you back into their shop/shack to sell you one of their carvings. They will claim that they have a gift for you and then expect a donation at the bus as you leave. We were forewarned about this so it wasn't a problem at the first 10 shops but then after shaking my hand the last guy just wouldn't let go and tried to drag me into the back of his shop. I had to literally jerk my hand from his. I tell people this so if they should choose to go on the shopping trip that this will happen and if noting else, look at it as just another Jamaican experience. Most of the others on the tour bus had a similar experience and according to the driver it was a common practice. My wife and I have been to many different countries. We usually take more chances by going off the beaten path and commingling with the locals so we tend to expect this but some of our fellow tourists were very uncomfortable. Now what should be done in a perfect world is that the tourist revenue should be going back into the people so there isn't such a discrepancy between the locals and the tourists. Getting back to the trip.....We absolutely loved Jamaica it is beautiful and fun. We will go back again. We have been using Cheap Caribbean. com for a few years and have always found that Cheap Caribbean was the lowest price that we could find. Everything that Couples Resort offered was truly all inclusive. We went to Dunn's Waterfalls, the party catamaran, went diving twice, had more than a few drinks and enjoyed great meals. I also wanted to note that the transportation to Couples Resort Tower Isle from the airport was included. It was provided by Couples Resort. I mention this because, when we purchased the trip, there was an option to pay for airport transportation. This picture was the view that we woke up to every morning.

We had a wonderful time. The resort is beautiful, the food was great and it was very relaxing. The complimentary water sports and excursions make it a tremendous value.

Overall Great Experience!

Let me start by saying that we loved our vacation and we returned after 8 days completely refreshed! We do love to travel and we've travelled to many places and we've previously stayed in Jamaica at San Souci...the experience here was much different than our past experience. This isn't a gripe session but it will be a long post so I can be honest...hang in there! :) If you've never been to Jamaica be prepared to be ASKED for tips. We tip for good service, not by demand so this irks us a bit but we already expected it from our previous trip there. Our transport from the airport was great and almost felt like a tour since our driver made sure to point out many of the historical landmarks and local hot spots which we loved. Check in was a little chaotic but we were greeted with rum punch and a 'No Problem Mon' to ease our minds while we waited to be taken to our room. You will be urged to make reservations for excursions and formal dinners upon arrival and it is wise to do this as they fill fast. However, we went over to the desk (about ten steps away from check-in desk) and were laughed at when we requested dinner reservations for "Bayside" for our second evening. All she needed to say was "Sorry, that restaurant is booked for the next few evenings, is there another evening you would prefer?" But instead she was extremely rude and dismissive. Honestly, the service was our biggest complaint. While we were loving being on "island time" it was really frustrating waiting for someone to take our drink or food order when we just wanted to eat and hit the beach again. We would like to think they were just understaffed since we saw the same faces doing multiple jobs and working long hours but it's hard to say without staying there again. (Which we totally would!) The food was mediocre. We remember being blown away by the quality of food at San Souci though, so we had extremely high expectations. The Bayside (Asian cuisine) restaurant was amazing, The Verandah was amazing, Eight Rivers was ok and buffet was adequate but we aren't much on buffet food. As much as I love gourmet food I would have like to have seen some simpler options...they got a little wild on some of the menus for us. The Gala evening were fun and set up beautifully. The staff really did work very hard to make those evenings extra special. Our room was clean and comfortable. We don't spend a lot of time there so it wasn't a top priority but even in a garden view room we still felt like we had a great view and a cozy place to recharge. The bathroom was small but more than adequate, the bed was comfy, turndown service was fantastic, drinks always stocked upon request and plenty of clean towels. The beach was great! Plenty of seats, plenty of sun or shade, towel stations close by in case you needed a fresh one. (No crazy towel cards needed!) Watersports people were awesome, we did sailing and snorkeling and both were entertaining. The pools were nice enough, a little dated but they were cleaned regularly and were a nice change of scenery for us after laying on the beach. We actually enjoyed the pool and Jacuzzi's by the patio after dinner a couple of evenings. We loved it! Our favorite part...the Island! Now that may sound crazy to some since its a nude island but let me tell you, I've never been so relaxed. We are modest people and even we loved it. You can hide out in your own space or mingle in the pool, your choice. We spent most of our days there, it's so relaxed and you don't have anything to do but listen to the sea. They do have entertainment and lunches on the island for those who are interested. We went to relax so it worked perfectly for us. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We wanted a comfy room, decent food, and a quiet space to relax and it worked for us.

Couples Tower Isle Jamaica: Share a Chic Caribbean Experience

Named by Travel + Leisure in 2011 as the "World's Best Hotel Spa in the Caribbean" and as #26 in the "Top Hotels in the World", Couples Tower Isle isn't just one of the best resorts in Jamaica; it's one of the world's best resorts. The couples-only resort's beachfront paradise boasts Tower Isle: a private island accessible only by boat, and the only place where couples can enjoy nude sunbathing. The swim-up bar on the island puts premium liquor in the rum punch, so you can bathe nude in the lap of luxury.

The uncrowded beaches are perfect for sun worshipers ready for quiet Caribbean beauty, and the 1950s-style freshwater pool makes you feel like a Hollywood celeb, with all the glamour and none of the drama. Hungry after swimming or sunbathing? Couples Tower Isle brings Jamaica to you at Eight Rivers with their pumpkin-and-plantain cappuccino soup garnished with Jamaican chorizo. On a health kick? You can't beat the local flavors at Veggie Bar and a serving of chilled breadfruit-and-leeks vichyssoise. At night, you're in for a real show at the chic Piano Bar, where you can imagine yourself as an old-school Hollywood star.

A wealth of all-inclusive activities available to help you take in what Jamaica has to offer: a glass-bottom boat tour, shuttles to Margaritaville, reef snorkeling and scuba diving. Be sure to catch a ride on the complimentary Catamaran Cruise before the day is done. When you've had your fill of excitement, treat yourself to a European Seaweed Body Treatment at the Zen-styled Oasis Spa, voted by Travel+Leisure as the best spa in the Caribbean.

After a long day of pleasure seeking and pampering, couples relax in Caribbean-styled guestrooms, each with a king-sized bed and nightly, turn-down service. And, shopping in Ocho Rios is just five miles away, with a resort this fabulous, you'll never want to leave!
