Couples Sans Souci

My wife and I chose the Couples resorts as a more "secluded/ to ourselves" resort option. We loved the place and I would give it 41/2 stars. The PRO's: -staff very attentive to every whim. can ask for anything and they will get it for you. -lot's of hourly activities on site, thus never run out of things to do. -fancy dinning options with live piano playing and saxophone in the dinner restaurants. -quite place, with 30% of couples in their 20-30's/ newely wed. 40% 40-50's & 30% in their 60s. -grounds are very lush and maintained well. The Cons: -hotel itself is somewhat old, and has been "refreshed" but doesn't have that "brand new feel". However, I think that all of hotels in the Ocho Rios area are older (maybe except for the RIU). -the beach had loads of corals, and thus the swim area was very small. The nude beach on the contrary had a great beach. -nothing to do in the "downtown", and not really a place to go out and explore. -the all you can drink alchol was all jamaican, i.e. only Red Stripe Jamaican beer, and liquor's made in Jamaica/caribeean islands. I would reccomend this place to almost anyone. Great if you want quiet, alone time, and no floods of "vacationers/ kids". I would re-visit the Couples hotels, but would try something on the other side of Jamaica on the '7 mile' beach area.

Absolutely everything is included in this package. You can snorkel, scuba, go sailing, golfing, eat whenever you want (room service is also included) or you can just sit and do nothing (and they'll bring you mango daiquiris). There are no kids allowed, which is nice. The service is excellent. Everyone there treats you like you are the only reason that they are working there, but it's very casual. There are three restaurants to choose from. Two require daily reservations, but that was never a problem. The food is excellent, but each restaurant has a limited menu, so you have to go to more than one to get a little of everything. If I HAVE to find something that wasn't perfect, it would be that the wine selection is limited to either red or white. But, seriously, that's the only thing that I could possibly find to complain about. If you go, you might see me sitting under a tiki hut on the beach. We are definitely going back.

My husband and I spent our 3rd anniversary at CSS! I was a bit nervous about my choice of resort given some mixed reviews I had read on the internet. My fears were totally laid to rest the minute we stepped into the Couples Lounge at Montego Bay Airport, and were welcomed with a cold Red Stripe beer and a smiling staff member saying "Welcome Home!" Since it was our anniversary, we splurged on a Penthouse Suite. Our room was lovely and the view from our balcony was also magnificent! The room was large and very clean. We had an amazing blue-tiled walk in shower in the bathroom--what a treat! The food in all the restaurants was terrific--particularly Casanova's. My husband never eats dessert, but he had 2 desserts at Casanova's! The service was amazing from all the staff--from housekeeping to the bartenders--I truly felt that I was at home and any need or desire would be fulfilled if I asked for it. Couples San Souci won our hearts so much so that a week after we returned home from our first visit, we booked two more trips--December 2010 and July 2011! I am truly devoted to Couples and will only spend my valuable vacation time and dollars with them from now on!

Couples San Souci is a wonderful place to visit. You cannot find prettier grounds anywhere! The rooms are large and comfortable. Restaurants are top notch, as are the spa and bars. Sunset Beach, the au natural beach and pool facility, is fabulous! But what makes San Souci best is the staff. From the first moment we got to the resort, the staff remembered us and would frequently call out and wave as we walked by. There was no request too small for them to accommodate. We will return to San Souci - it is now officially our Jamaican "home". Everyting Irie!
