XMAS in Costa Rica
Our family had a most enjoyable time at the Costa Rica Marriott during XMAS week. It is an excellent resort in a beautiful setting. It was our base for day tours to wonderful sites. The travel was long to some locations and the roads were certainly not always the best but the views were great and the attractions were worth it.

Hotel Description
Costa Rica Marriott: Ecotourism, Colonial Architecture, Elegant Dining
The charm of old-world Costa Rica floods the fabulous Marriott Costa Rica, originally built as a colonial hacienda on a 30-acre coffee plantation. The architecture and d?cor prompt couples and business travelers to slip into a world that moves at a slower pace without sacrificing modern amenities like 15 meeting rooms, 11,350 sq ft of function space and spacious, well-appointed rooms that let guests work and play in total comfort.
The Costa Rica Marriott was voted one of the "Top Ten Hotels in Mexico and Central America" in the Cond? Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards; it's easy to see why--lush, timeless grounds and proximity to unbelievable eco-friendly sightseeing. For a refreshing break, try one of the two swimming pools or grab an espresso from Casa del Caf? and decide which hotel restaurant sounds good for dinner. Empanadas and other Spanish-style tapas go down nicely with a glass of Spanish Rioja at Isabela Tapas and Wine Cellar, and international fare is all the rage at Antigua. Sipping mojitos with friends and grooving to live music at La Castilla in the lobby make for an elegant evening in paradise.
The Marriott Costa Rica has three Sport Court(R) tennis courts and an on-site golf range for sporty types. The hotel's spa, Kuo, takes its inspiration from the local area and offers treatments inspired by coffee, volcanoes and other ingredients unique to Costa Rica. The Kuo Signature Massage stimulates chakras and uses lymphatic drainage so you're totally refreshed after a day of adventure.
If you really want to see the sights, call a cab or rent a car and take off. La Paz Waterfall Gardens have the largest aviary and butterfly observatory in Costa Rica and allow visitors to feed colorful toucans and hummingbirds by hand. Coffee lovers who want a taste of local culture should take the entertaining Britt Coffee Tour. Whatever you do, don't miss the nearby Poas Volcano National Park, home to the largest active volcanic crater in the world.
