106 guestrooms in five two-story buildings colored white and yellow with wood trim and steeply pitched red tin roofs. Featuring natural-colored pine and wicker furniture, tile floors, brightly colored bedspreads, and green and yellow walls, the decor and furnishings create a casual ambience. Ceiling fans and louvered windows provide a cooling option to rooms' air conditioning. Each room is also equipped with a mini refrigerator, cable TV, coffee maker, and hair dryer.
Located on the south west coast, this side of the island offers a lot of eco activities. Make a point of going over to Gilligans island to swim in the mangrove channels, and take a hike to the natural caves. They are definitely worth exploring. The resort offers excellent food and a very relaxing stay.
Copamarina, tucked away in the seaside town of Guanica on Puerto Rico's undiscovered southwestern coast, is a 20 acre landscaped tropical resort with a 3 mile long beach fronting the Caribbean Sea. Situated beside a public beach (the best in the area), amid a landscaped palm grove, the resort is airy and relaxing. This is a Puerto Rico far from the glitz and the casinos in San Juan. This is the Copamarina Beach Resort, an exclusive retreat offering the best in relaxation, fine dining featuring award-winning Caribbean recipes, fabulous diving and eco-tourist wonders.
The resort's dive program - Dive Copamarina - caters to divers of all levels from snorkelers to certified dive professionals. If you wish, you can even earn your PADI dive certification during your vacation.
Back on land, Copamarina offers a full array of activities, from tennis to swimming and volleyball, bike rentals to hiking and birdwatching. Natural attractions and historical towns such as La Parguera (home of the Bioluminescent Bay) and Ponce are within easy reach.
Nature lovers and bird watchers can hike 12 forest trails, easy to rugged. In one mile, mostly along the roadway, 40 different species of birds were recorded. The largest bird population on the island is protected here, more than the El Yunque Rain Forest, with over 100 species of migratory and resident birds.
If you're looking for a secluded Caribbean hideaway without having to forego all of the comforts of the modern world, look no further than the Copamarina Beach Resort.
