Love the CS
We have stayed at the Comfort Suites (CS) Paradise Island several times. You stay here so that you can enjoy the Atlanitis. IMHO the location, privileges at Atlantis, and amenities of CS can't be beat for the price. CS has a free continental B'fast which is adequate, and ability to pay for a cooked to order B'fast, but no other meal options available. On site pool with bar is a nice option to unwind at end of a hectic day in the sun. What is best about bookiing through CheapCaribbean (CC) is that all of the extra daily maid and energy charges that CS tacks on are included in price you pay up front. CS told me only CC and one other travel site collect and pay these fees for you up front. I think the fees run over $17 a day per person (yikes!). This makes CC's price an even better deal when comparing to other travel booking sites.

Old and Run Down
The Comfort Suites Paradise Island was quite old and run down. The hallways smelled bad. There is a newer section of this hotel.
Breakfast was a good value
I guess for the price I shouldn't have expected too much. The Comfort Suites were not exactly new.... musty carpet, creaking floor and peeling paint. However the employees were very nice and accomodating. There was a bit of a mix up when I checked in resulting in me carrying my heavy bag up the stairs, (no elevator), and down a long hallway only to find that the room I was given was already occupied. I don't know who was more embarassed me, or the poor couple that I walked in on! The wrist band that you are issued that allows you access to the Paradise Inn pool attractions is somewhat limited and you do feel a bit like a second class citizen when there. Overall, for the price, I did have fun and enjoyed meeting new people. After all, life is what you make of it.
I stayed at the CS Paradise Island in April for five nights with a girlfriend; I am going back in August with my husband! We chose to stay here because it was SO cheap compared to Atlantis, and included free breakfast and all access to Atlantis. No matter where you are staying at Atlantis, there is walking involved. We had absolutely no problems with the five minute walk through the marina village every morning to get to Atlantis. It was actually really nice to wander through those shops/starbucks/etc every morning, and to hear music on our way home at night. That being said, the hotel smelled AWFUL and the layout was really really strange - lots of weird hallways and you can only access the fourth floor from one side of the hotel. the room was fine, nothing extraordinary, but comfortable, and great to have a fridge. but really - we packed bags every morning (snacks from breakfast and the fridge, alcohol/soda, etc.) and went to atlantis until 5 or 6, came back, showered/napped then went back over to atlantis for dinner/fun. we didn't spend too much time in the room.
basically, I am going back in August with my husband because I wanted to be able to spend a week at Atlantis but couldn't afford to actually do that at Atlantis! we don't plan on spending too much time in the room. I wish I had the money to go stay at the cove for a week, but I'd rather have a longer time on vacation and stay at a mediocre hotel than only get three nights at the actual Atlantis. It was really no different for us - we loved the price and convenience of comfort suites. if you can afford it, though, stay at atlantis!

You'll find Comfort Suites in the between Atlantis and the Paradise Island hotel. It's a 5 minute walk to Cabbage Beach. Super close.
The airport is about 25-30 minutes away. Easy to get there via cab. It'll cost you $32 flat (unless the rates have changed).
Have a great time!

You can use the Atlantis beaches and pools which is located next door to the Comfort Suites. The airport is about 1/2 hour away. We passed a few beaches on the way to the airport but never got a chance to hang out there.

About 2-5 minutes from the beach, Atlantis's beach you have to walk through the hotel but you get chairs and towels and beautiful beaches, and the airport is about 25 minutes. $40 max for a taxi

My suggestion for the beach would be to use the beach access from the Atlantis property. There is no easy access from the Comfort Suites themselves, it is a long walk down the block and then back a road to get to the beach. If you go on to the Atlantis property, you can go to any one of their several beaches or walk up the beach to the public beach where they were renting jet skis, parasailing or banana boat rides.
It was about a 20-25 minute ride from the airport. It think the cab ride was around $40 from the airport.

walking distance to the beach at the Atlanis and about 40 minutes from the airport
LT626
By taxi, the airport is about 25-35 minutes away depending on traffic.
The comfort suites are on Paradise Island, so you're never too far from the beach. The Atlantis has their own beach on the property, but the actual beach is just a little farther past that. You're looking at a max 10 minute walk going through the Atlantis property.

The airport is approximately 11 miles away from the hotel. The closest beach is located in Atlantis which is a few feet away from Comfort Suites.

The price will depend on the travel dates and age of the traveler. After your travel dates and flights are selected you will be able to see a price per person breakdown.
JenCC
I believe it was $25 per night for an extra person.
Stefanie
When we were there last week it was $40 a night plus the maid and service fees plus tax. I believe it works out to about $65 a night for a third person.
humbleVP
This is about right, unless the 3rd person is a child, in which case, Comfort Suites has deals where children sleep and eat for free.

You can usually add on nights as long as it falls within the deal's dates. Personally, I've been to Costa Rica, St. John, and now Nassau/Paradise Island and I would not recommend the latter, especially if you are going for an entire week.
If you want an island vacation, St. John (15 minute ferry from St. Thomas) is awesome or look at some of the other Bahamas.

Is food and drinks included? how far way are there restaurants and around how much do you spend per night orb food and drinks?12 answers

Only continental breakfast is included in the stay. During the day, we ate and drank at the Atlantis bars and restaurants which aren't terribly expensive ($6/7 for a beer, I think $10 for a cocktail, salads $10). It was what we would expect to pay everyday since we live in New York, so it may be a little pricer if you live elsewhere.
There is a free shuttle to and from Montagu Gardens which is very good. We took a cab ($15 each way, a little pricey) to the Fish Fry area where there are 10+ restaurants to choose from). We also walked to the Atlantis Harbor I think it's called, a 3 minute walk from the Comfort Suites. There are many restaurants to choose from at the Atlantis but we didn't go to any of them.
Stefanie
I think there are 4 or 5 restaurants.. One is burgers and fries, jerk checken and jerk pork all day/ night long... ONe is oven roasted pizza during day only... One is breakfast and lunch buffet most of the day... night ones were Itian, Japanese (which asn't great), and french...
overall excellent.
Tammie
Breakfast was included and it was enough to start you day but no food and drinks weren't included. There were lots of restaurants around and those weren't cheap but weren't extremely expensive either. There was a little store across the street and we picked up a couple bags of chips and came back to have lunch a couple of times. Honestly the best deal on food was at Atlantis there were certain restaurants that had "value meals" and for under ten dollars you got a huge hamburger, hot dog, chicken fingers, etc. and a soda and fries for all under ten dollars. My sister and I split that a couple of days and saved for a splurge on dinner.
Sundai
I believe they do have an all inclusive plan. Restaurants are within walking distance and most are very expensive.

The only food included would be the Continental breakfast. There are several restaurants within close walking distance, most of which are on the Atlantis property. Downtown Nassau is a short cab ride away as well. We found food and drink to be a little pricey. For 2 adults for food and a drink or 2 per person would run an easy $150. We didn't get to eat in town at all, just at Atlantis as we had 2 young children with us. We never had a bad meal on the Atlantis property, but it wasn't cheap. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would go there again in a heartbeat.

There are restaurants close by that are affiliated with the Atlantis. They are pretty expensive (to me)... on the lowest end, $15 for a hamburger, on the high end, $75 for a steak. However, I found a Quiznos sub in the shopping center beside of the Comfort Suites, and you could eat breakfast for around $5 per person, and lunch for under $10 pp. There's also a liquor store in the same shopping center where you can find canned cokes for $0.80 and beer/ wine for pretty cheap.

Only breakfast is included, and it's minimal. Breads, doughnuts, fruit, and cereal. Atlantis is a 10 minute walk and Anthony's is a 5 min walk (if that) but food in general is very expensive. Average meal for 2 adults was about $35 at the cheapest locations and about $80 at the nicer locations.
Kipecec
You get a free continental breakfast that includes, donuts, bagels, toast, cereal, coffee, orange juice, milk, and water and a few others. That is the only free food and drinks. It is really close to walk over to the Atlantis for restaurants (most of the cheaper places to eat are the pool side restaurants) and there are a few within walking distance not at Atlantis. The food and drinks are very expensive. Our cheapest meal was at Johnny Rockets and my husband and I split a burger, fries, and both had a cokes-cost around $25.00. Just about every place charges a 15% gratuity on bill. You can expect to spend close to 80.00-100.00 on dinner at most restaurants at the Atlantis and around Nassau.
er6698
There are meal packages that I saw, but not much else. Your average meal is going to cost you $20/person (easily). There are some cheaper restaurants in Nassau itself, but not much luck on Paradise Island. Even those it's about $50 for a couple (1 drink each, 1 app, & 2 entrees), a good restaurant to eat at is the Green Parrot. The food is by the far the best on Paradise Island.
MacBain
Food and drinks were not included. Food starts at $15 per plate unless you go to Quiznos which is like $7 a sandwich. Drinks were $8 and up. The restaurants are all within walking distance!
AWinNE
Breakfast is included. Last week the breakfast was an upgraded continental - it had scrambled eggs and either sausage or bacon in addition to typical continental breakfast food. I believe you can order lunch at the pool restaurant area. There are other restaurants very close by. As for what it costs, it's up to what you want to spend. Prices are high for food and drink but there are places you can eat for a reasonable amount. For example you can get a Quiznos sandwich meal for under $10 just across the street form the Comfort Suites. We often eat lunch at the Atlantis pool area where you can get a value meal under $10 which includes unlimited soda refills.
humbleVP
Buffett breakfast is included for all registered guests. They have a deal where kids sleep and eat for free, but there is a limited number of restaurants where that offer can be used. They serve lunch there but no dinner so the offer is mostly off premises. Food is EXPENSIVE on Paradise Island. Family of four, 2 adults-2 kids (8 and 11) cost $80 at Anthony's where we used a kids eat free card; Marketplace, a fancy buffet restaurant in Royal Tower at Atlantis cost $150 for our family (adults $50 each, kids $20 each). We ate at a fancy steakhouse at the Marina Village across street and paid $263 for two adult entrees (seafood and steak) and 2 kids entrees but no cocktails/beer. We ate in downtown Nassau (Poope Deck) for about $150 (no kid menu) but had to pay about $50 cab fare all-together. We never bought lunch. I packed a cooler with ice, water bottles, sandwiches and snacks I made before heading out to Atlantis. (We did a little grocery shopping enroute from airport to the hotel the day we arrived. Be warned, food costs a lot because almost everything is shipped in to the islands). The snack shacks at Atlantis do have some reasonable deals -- value meals of sandwich or burger, fries and drink for about $8, but you can't deviate from the package or else you get charged full price. Happy vacationing.

Is there a quiet part of the Comfort Suites Paradise Island Hotel or time of year to travel?11 answers
This hotel seems great and such a bargain! However, my hubby and oldest son are both very light sleepers. Is there a room/part of the hotel that would be quieter than other parts? Also is there a time of the year (from now until 8/31) where the hotel would be less crowded (and thus probably quieter). We are 2 adults, 2 kids (kids are 14 and 11). Thanks for any help! :)

Comfort Suites advises that the East wing is much quieter than than the West wing. You are able to request a room in the East Wing and the resort will do their best to accomodate you, subject to availability. If you are looking for a quiet time of year to travel now is it! The summer months are the "slow" season in the Caribbean and great time to book a relaxing vacation.

Our room was facing the street and cars and motorcycles were quite loud throughout the night. The second floor leading to Atlantis is also noisey due to people coming and going so I would ask for a room away from the street and not on that hallway. Enjoy!

We stayed in room 353, which was facing a little courtyard and the back of the convention center of Atlantis, and it was pretty quiet. Also, the walls seem pretty insulated. We stayed next to 4 teenaged girls and didn't hear them the whole time. We went in the end of May and it wasn't very crowded at all. It seems like late spring is a good time to go because you've missed the winter snow bird rush and you're too early to compete with the families with kids out of school for the summer. You might have missed that window though... Hope this helps.

It is very crowded during the summer months. Your best bet would be off season, once kids go back to school -- September October and on. The quieter side (and newer) is the east wing. The higher the floor the better (only 5 floors). The west side is easier to access Atlantis, but as such all the foot traffic flows through the west wing. We had no problem with noise in the east wing 3rd floor and we were near the elevator. There were lots of families, but people are out at Atlantis during the day and there is enough night life at the resort that people didn't "party" at all at Comfort Suites. We have two children, 8 and 11, who were wiped out by the end of the day that they had no energy to be rambuctious (and they can be very loud) at night. My guess is most families with younger children like ours found their little ones in bed without much quarrel.

Most of our deals and sales for travel over the New Year's holiday come out closer to the fall. However, we suggest checking back often as we sometimes receive special sales and pricing sooner.

The best thing to do is get on Cheap Caribbean's email list. The deals are there unfortunately you have to be somewhat flexible on the dates. Having said that we found this deal which is prime time spring break and another deal over Thanksgiving one year.

The resorts do not allow a reservation to be canceled and rebooked under a new special especially if it is cheaper as they can deny that reservation if they see this has occurred. Once a reservation is booked, the customer is locked into that price. Unfortunately, we do not have prior knowledge if the resort should come out with better special at a later date.

How does the access to the Atlantis work?11 answers

Clients booked at Comfort Suites have access to the Atlantis Resort which is located across the street, about a three minute walk. You will receive wristbands which will allow you to use the Atlantis facilities. It is a great value.
ccsusan1
You walk over to the Atlantis, go to the Aquaventure desk, and show them the guest card you get from Comfort Suites. They will give you a wrist band for that day, and this will entitle you to just about everything.
It's a lot of walking because Atlantis is huge, but once you find where the Aquaventure desk is the rest is easy.

When you check into Comfort Suites, they issue each person a card with your name on it. When you are ready, you walk through the Atlantis casino towards the hotel area and they have hotel personnel posted at the entrance to the lobby/aquarium/ticket booth area. Show them your Comfort Suites card and then you go to the ticket booth and get your daily bracelet that gives you all access to the Atlantis facilities. You get a new bracelet each day. Since we were Comfort Suite guests, we did use cash for lunch at the pool and their pool bars.

It is very easy. When you check in to the Comfort Suites they give you a pink card with your room number and account number. You can put $400 on hold on the card to spend at the Atlantis so you do not have to carry your wallet with you. (However, to get a locker you will need cash or a credit card - $7 for a small which holds a large backpack.) Then when you want to go to the Atlantis, you just go out the side door of the hotel and cross the street. The entrance to the Atlantis Casino is right there. Past the casino is the Royal Tower Lobby. You go down the stairs in the lobby and there is a wristband station right there. Show them your pink card and they will give you a wristband which gives you full access to the Atlantis all day long.
screengem
all you do is goto royal towers (a short 5-10 min walk) and get a wrist band...thats it! So worth it...I went with a 3 and 6 yr old (fam of 4 as well) ....great time and great deal at Comfort Suites.
DJerz33
Upon checkin at CS you are given a pink card with your name and dates of visit - you take your pink card the Royal tower lobby area down the stairs to the left is a counter, present the pink card and the attendant will put a bracelet on you. This process must be done every day as the bracelet color will change daily. If you are just going to get on the property and go to the pools (like DH and I do) your card will gain you acces w/o the bracelet. For the slides you will need to be wearing the bracelet.

You'll get a paper "card" when you check in which you have to show at Atlantis then they'll give you a wristband. We used the tip of bringing something to laminate the cards w/since they're paper. I just brought some packing tape and put it over the cards.
ArmyMomof2
You must have a pink slip of paper and each day show at the correct desk at Atlantis for an arm band and then you have total access including charges to your room at Comfort Suites.

You have to walk one block and you're just in the Atlantis entrance. After that, you have to walk a lot in the hotel to go to the aquaventure and the beaches but is part of the entertainment

complimentary pick up & drop off from airport to the hotel10 answers
how far is the comfort suites from the airport? If taking the taxi cab, approximately how much will it cost? thanks!

carol
The fare is $32 one way & it takes about 45 minutes due to traffic.
bleachie
Comfort Suites does not offer complimentary transportation to and from the airport. The average taxi cost is about $35 one way for two people. The average time to get back and forth from the hotel to airport is 20-30mins.
DanielleCC
We paid $42 (US) - plus a 20% tip. But we had eight people and required a van.
Bibee
The comfort suites is about 30-40 minute drive from the airport. We used majestic tours for $ 40.00 a person round trip. I believe a taxi will run you about $35 or $40.

I believe the posted rate for a cab to the airport from the Comfort Suites is $38 one way. I think it takes about 20 mins.
RLou
It is quite far. Taxi costs about $36 each way.
Ashok
its approximately 30-45 minutes to the airport. The better value would be to take the shuttle through Cheap Carribean
PatPat
probably 15 minutes depending on the traffic and season...
LottieB
There are cabs everywhere at the airport. Transportation is no problem. Its about half hour. Cost is about $35 US
itchintogoaway
Well is about 25 to 30 min. I will recomend to get the transportation that they offer when you book your vacation which would be cheaper. But if you dind't have the chance you can always offer the taxy guy they are willing to work with your budge that's the good thing about the people there that you make an offer and they are most willing to get the offer

We were there January 3 - 10, 2012. First the breakfast is pretty good, although eating eggs every day for a week can get tiresome. There is also waffles, toast, cereal, donuts, fruits and yogurt. What we did was eat the eggs and sausage and toast for breakfast, then we took some bagels, yogurt and fruit up to our room. I had brought some zip lock bags so we put the bagels in there and I had also brought some pouches of tuna salad so we were able to fix some bagel sandwiches for lunch. We took the fruit with us to Atlantis for a snack, along with some energy bars I had brought. Then the yogurt was our evening snack. That meant that we only needed to buy one meal out per day, which was good because the prices at Atlantis were very high. Actually the prices all over the Bahamas were high. We did find that the burger deal at the Atlantis poolside eateries was a good deal and some days we split that as it was quite generous. We also found (on our last night there) that Virgils, in the lower level of the convention center, has a short bar menu (available only if you ask) that included trash ribs. That ended up being a very generous portion of ribs and was only ten bucks. We also ate at Johnny Rockets, but avoided the milkshakes which started at $7. we also brought microwave popcorn and some other microwave foods to supplement our one meal out. We also went into a grocery store in downtown Nassau and even a small bag of chips was $9. I was wishing I had brought Pringles along!

Definitely take full advantage of breakfast and fill up. There is a Quiznos sub shop right across the street, which we often used as a cheap meal option. I never once ate in Atlantis due to the ridiculous prices (even Johnny Rockets was expensive) and if you are going to go out for a meal, go out for dinner. There is not much difference in the prices between lunch and dinner menus, lunch can turn out being equally as expensive. Allow ATLEAST twenty dollars a person (adult) for any restaurant you go out to eat at. For the cheapest food, cross over the bridge into Nassau and eat at the local spots downtown. Decently priced and delicious.

Hello, I was there the past July and what you can do is the following go to downtown and there's a super market buy some drinks like sodas ect and snacks that way you have things in the room since they have a small fridg and the microwave is in the first floor. And buy a gallon of water. Don't eat the the resort in paradise island nono is expencef really expecef. go to nassau downtown and they have cheap restaurant also burger king subway ect. What we did was to get some sandwiches and at night we just heat it up. With $500 you should do it if you know how to spend it. And if you are going to buy presents go to the market and always offer cheaper that they ask for. I hope this can help you on your trip You are going to LOVE IT...

We just did a trip in January. I placed drinks and food on the credit card just to see how much we spent. We have two kids also, 9 and 4 and we only used the free meals 1 nights. We ate at Bimini Road twice and had Fish sandwiches at the Atlantis pool for lunches. All in all we spent $700 on food and drink. and we enjoyed ourselves with plenty of both. Hope this help you budget your trip. Word to the wise, we lost another 300 in the casino, so if you find it, I'd like to have it back (enjoy!)
