Happy that I picked the Colony Club!
After reading reviews on the Colony Club, it looked like the best match for me; friendly service, somewhat secluded, and right on the beach. I wanted something quiet, but if I wanted to explore the nightlife I have that option as well. It was perfect! I loved that you are also able to take the water taxi to the hotel's other locations, so you can see Barbados by sea. The snorkeling was great and LOTS of sunshine. The staff was accommodating and friendly, and Barbados was the BEST since the locals are fantastic too! I will go back to the Colony Club, or even pick out another one of their sister locations in the future, but almost afraid to since I enjoyed the Colony Club so much!

Room Information
96 guestrooms and suites in four two-story buildings and two three-story buildings, all of them white with pink or white lattice trim and all facing a long, narrow central courtyard containing pools and gardens. Rooms and suites' white walls, tile floors, and bedspreads serve as backdrops for floral-motif throw pillows and drapes; straw-mat area rugs; bleached, cappuccino-colored furniture; upholstered chairs with ottomans; and nature prints on walls.
Colony Club Hotel is an upscale place with attentive service. We liked taking the water taxi to check out dining at the sister hotels, too.
What We'd Change
Dinner seating at the Sunset Bar and Deck doesn't start until 7:30, which might be late for you. But a pre-dinner drink at Planter's Club is a great way to wait.
Why You Should Go
This classy hotel on the West Coast is one of a kind. It's a neat mix of older architecture, tropical garden, deluxe rooms and modern amenities.

Hotel Description
Retreat to the Platinum Coast of Barbados
What do you call the best of the best Caribbean beaches? Platinum. Colony Club Hotel sits on a stretch of Barbados' West Coast, exquisite enough to earn the nickname the "Platinum Coast." Originally a private, colonial club, Colony Club Hotel is an artfully restored boutique resort that won a 2010 AAA Four Diamond Award.
When transforming this former club into a deluxe retreat, the designers made sure they respected its history. Artful Old World touches blend seamlessly with modern amenities. All 96 rooms have a private balcony or patio and some have private access to the stunning pools.
Colony Club Hotel features four lagoon-style pools framed by lush tropical gardens. Float up to Sunset Bar and Deck for swim-up service. And since Sunset Bar and Deck is accessible from the beach, you can quench your thirst, whether you're lounging by the pool or enjoying 400 yards of fine white sand. Splash around in the sea or stay active with the water sports. Hop on a banana boat or hang tight for a tube ride. Then take it down a notch with low-key, stand-up paddling.
Hungry? Sunset Bar and Deck hosts three themed evenings, like the popular Lobster and Jazz Night, where guests indulge in seafood while listening to soulful sounds. There's also Laguna Restaurant for leisurely lunches with a spectacular view of the pools. At Planter's Bar, you can relax in rattan seats with a pre-dinner drink to whet your appetite. Finally, if you want even more variety, Colony Club participates in Elegant Hotels' dine-around program; getting around is simple when you take the free water taxi the sister resorts.
After a day of enjoying warm sun and clear blue waters, you'll love the oasis of comfort each of the resort's 96 rooms offer. Enjoying a honeymoon or romantic getaway? Why not splurge and reserve a gorgeous Luxury Poolside Room; the private and direct access to the pool is a fabulous perk. And the Luxury Ocean View Room not only has the view, but the four-poster king bed will melt her heart.
