This is a great hotel, especially if you are looking for a quiet restful place. Popular with couples because of its determined efforts to maintain peace and quiet, the independently owned and operated resort discourages guests from bringing children and offers no children's facilities. Environmental awareness is another theme. Cactus gardens, palm trees, and expansive lawns maintained with recycled water substitute for water-demanding plantings such as flowering bushes.

The Tara Beach Suites are perfect for honeymooners. Each suite is oceanfront, has a big balcony or terrace with beautiful wooden and upolstered furnishings, and the striking king bed allows for an incredible beach and oceanfront view.

The resort's frontage on Eagle Beach extends for 200 yards, is 150 yards deep, and features 71 widely spaced thatched-roof shades. Freshwater swimming is available in a 50-by-25-foot pool, and a four-person spa tub sits on the pool's sundeck. Motorized watersports are barred in front of the resort, but watersports are available from independent vendors farther north.

You can workout in the open-air exercise pavilion and stay connected using the hotel's rare 24-hour access to the Internet. A Robert Trent Jones Jr. Championship Golf Course offers challenging golf and spectacular 360 degree views of the ocean only 8 miles north of Bucuti. Bucuti's full-time concierge staff will organize any sport, watersport or tour for your enjoyment. Most activities provide free transportation.

World-class shopping is available in nearby Oranjestad (3 miles south). Gift shops are located adjacent to the resort at the Alhambra shopping Bazaar and Casino complex.

**Pirates' Nest Restaurant and Sand Bar - Open-air restaurant and bar built as a replica of a 16th century Dutch galleon. Seating is also available on the romantic outdoor patio.
The Full American Breakfast Buffet is included in all room rates at Bucuti.

A variety of restaurants are located within walking distance to Bucuti in addition to Bucuti's own Pirates' Nest Restaurant. From snack food at Subway Sandwiches or New York Bagels, to 5 star dining at the new Belgian restaurant everyone is raving about, Le Dome.

The Tara Beach Suites are all oceanfront and equipped with "Divine Dreams" Simmons pillow-top king size beds. Each suite has a separate bedroom and living room with a wet bar, which are specially decorated to serve as a romantic getaway. Tara guests can also enjoy their own reception, concierge facilities and lounge as well as spa facilities.
