Breezes Runaway Bay Resort

Recently reopened after a $20 million expansion and renovation, Breezes Runaway Bay Resort features a new low-rise, 30-room wing with seven one-bedroom suites and eight verandah suites with private plunge pools. In addition, 30 gardenview rooms have expanded into 40 verandah suites, each with plunge pools. Existing guest rooms will sport new furnishings, liquid-crystal-display TVs and wireless Internet access as well as new bathroom countertops and hardware. In the watersports area, the resort added two new pools to supplement the existing Olympic-sized main pool and a new dive equipment building will feature scuba and Nitrox equipment.

The recently opened Blue Mahoe Spa, is a full-service spa featuring the signature three-hour "Blue Mahoe Spa Package" that includes four enticing treatments; Island Coffee Mint Glo, Tropical Body Mousse, 60-minute Blue Mahoe Massage and Tropical Fruit Facial. There is also the Bamboo Spa Hut. It is located on the beach, with a clear view of the ocean. The hut can accommodate 2 guests at a time, making it ideal for couples.

The Breezes Runaway Bay no longer has a clothing optional beach.

DINING / BARS:

BEACH TERRACE - Open-air restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets daily. Cuisine themes at night. Live jazz during dinner followed by stage entertainment.
PASTAFARI - Grand, air-conditioned restaurant with pianist, pink-and-white linens and drapes. Some semiprivate booths under little pink-wood ceilings. Italian a la carte menu. Reservations required. Dress code: Long pants and collared shirts for men.
MUNASAN - Innovative Japanese fare in a casually elegant atmosphere with a sushi bar and Teppanyaki stations, where chefs prepare dishes to order.
REGGAE CAFE - Beachfront dining with an authentic taste of Jamaica. Serving traditional Jamaican favorites and Caribbean flare for lunch and dinner.
STARLIGHT GRILL - Roofless terrace bordered by gardens, open for dinner. Mongolian-grill food, with guests selecting ingredients for cooking to order.
BEACH GRILL - Open late morning to early evening for light foods such as burgers and jerk chicken.
HURRICANES DISCO - Large, two-level, air-conditioned room featuring turquoise leatherette walls and seating. Nightly DJ music and bar service from 11 PM until last guests leave. Pajama and toga parties weekly.
PELICAN PIANO BAR - Open-air spot off lobby with pianist providing singalong or karaoke.
*Sandwiches and other snacks are available at the front desk from late night to early morning.

The resort offers 234 guestrooms in 3 two-story white buildings with wood trim and flat roofs. Rooms feature garden-view balconies or patios furnished with chairs and cocktail tables. Decor includes pale-yellow walls, white tile floors, white furniture, green-and-blue fabrics, and wood palm-tree cutouts on walls at beds' heads. Each guestroom is equipped with air-conditioning, radio, CD Player, satellite TV, in-room safe, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, coffee maker and private balcony.

Situated on the north coast of Jamaica in Runaway Bay. Montego Bay Airport is 42 miles away. Approximate driving time is 1 hour and 20 minutes. Transfers from and to the Montego Bay airport are included.
