ruined experience

ok, first up I am disabled and my one star rating would likely be a lot higher if i wasn't. The resort itself is beautiful, the staff were very friendly and tried to make everyone feel welcome yes, it's noisy especially saturday night when sleeping really isn't an option before about 3.30am but that's fine, we knew it was a party type hotel before arriving there. My personal experience though was ruined by the chain of events listed below. We arrived at the airport. The transportation was ready as requested. However it was not accesible for a wheelchair despite the booking confirmation explicitly stating that i was disabled. In comic fashion, 3 men had to physically lift me into the van. On arrival, we were told we were really lucky and that we had been given a room upgrade to a swim up room. This transpired to be actually saying " we have given your handicap accessible room away and have given you instead a worse room" So i spent 3 days not being able to access the toilet or shower. Indeed, on the second night i actually soiled myself not able to get to the only handicap public toilet in time and my companion had to clean me up using just a sink. that day we had been told that a room would be available for us the following day but they couldn't let us take it then since it wasn't ready. The TV was broken but they promised the next day the room would be ready for us. The next day indeed we were offered a transfer to the handicap room which of course i was most ready for. When we got into it though we found it in general to be a superior room to the one we had been "upgraded" into... but umm, the TV was still broken, there was no bin in the room, there was no information book, no room service menu, and the clock / alarm didn't even have a cable attached to it.The toilet was also constantly running water. This all meant that we had no idea what was going on in the hotel as the events were posted on the TV. We had no idea what room service we could get, we also had no idea what time it was at all since in the previous room we relied on the clock and / or the TV The room itself was delightful, it was quiet and had a pool right in front of the patio and even in this quiet area of the hotel we had someone coming round bringing drinks. If we had arrived and been given this room from the start, and it wasn't in a state of disrepair it would really have been a wonderful vacation and i would recommend it to anyone. Sadly though my vacation was ruined by being lied to on arrival and not having it made good immediately

AMAZING VACAY-One of the best hotels in Punta Cana

I stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days, and when they say this place knows how to party, they REALLY DO! Of course there are many options for those who don't want to party and just relax all day, but otherwise you can enjoy the foam party, a ton of activities on the beach-including yoga and boot camp and many other workout programs done by visiting fitness experts. The entertainment team has something for everyone and they take the time to know everyone by name. The room is amazing and has everything you need-next time I'm definitely getting a room with direct access to pool. The pools were AMAZING and the beach was good. They clean the sand several times per day and my only complaint is that a lot of the beach was very rocky with lots of coral so definitely wear shoes, or just walk further down on the beach where there are less rocks. Otherwise this is PARADISE, and I can't wait to go back again!

Ok resort

Some of the staff were nice but it wasn't across the board. Daily housekeeping and nightly turndown service was hit or miss. We had to alert the concierge about it and it still wasn't consistent. We were there for a week. There were 2 pools and I really didn't like that the pools were being scrubbed and cleaned with some substance during the middle of the day while in use by guests. Also water activities were non existent. Even though we went during an off peak time (when the resort was not full at all) they somehow managed to run out of pool towels. There were quite a few restaurants but they weren't all opened for dinner every night. You had to look at the schedule to know which one was open which night. Also did not like the sales pressure to join the travel club! We listened to the presentation on our 1st day but opted not to buy. Very pushy. Out of 7 days being there we were approached almost daily to look at the presentation and had to keep telling them we had already done it. That was very ANNOYING.

Is This Really All Inclusive?

Let's start by saying that my room was beautiful and clean. The grounds were also lovely. Food was delicious. When I arrived I was wowed! Carlos who served drinks was attentive and friendly. Down falls were there was only beer, soda, and water in the room. I wanted wine and was told that I had to purchase a bottle which started at $30 if I wanted wine in my room. The wine served outside was horrible and the other alcohol tasted watered down. All inclusive? In order to sit in various areas of the beach were also an up charge. This isn't my idea of all inclusive. To also dim my wonderful time the lady in the spa miscalculated my roommate's services by $100 so when we go to check out we had to dispute this with no avail, although we had our receipt with the lady's writing on it. I really enjoyed my time but the downfalls made what could have been a wonderful experience to a medium one.

What's to Love

A Las-Vegas-meets-South-Beach mash-up, Breathless Punta Cana is an adults-only playground for elite, discerning travelers.

Here, you can either frolic or lounge, (or toggle between the two states), in an escape zone of unhinged revelry and bliss.

Rockin' suites (the size of the Grand Canyon) with stress-busting Jacuzzis on your private terrace.

Baths have Jack and Jill vessel sinks in hip, bright colors (orange, yellow), which will bring a little happy to your sleepy-eyed morning.

You can pamper yourself with Zero % Gilchrist & Soames luxury bath products.

A transcendent, lush spa offers a bevy of tantalizing, worry-smashing, soul-transporting treatments. (Defies description, actually.)

The Bachelorette Party Package - the last fling before the ring. Boom.

Shimmering, sparkling beaches with glistening sand have perch-worthy cabanas.

There's an expansive main pool, swim-up bar, a multi-level Freestyle pool and four other pools all waiting for you.

What We'd Change

The drive from the airport might seem like it's far, but once you arrive, you're going to be swept away. And, be prepared to receive a cocktail upon arriving because the staff at Breathless knows you're ready to party!

Why You Should Go

The pheromone-raising monthly fetes like Menage a Deux a Trois and weekly bashes like Dirty Dancing Night.

You can go topless horseback riding, if you dare.

Water sports galore: Kayaking, windsurfing, catamaran, paddle boating, and more.

Pool aerobics for those who want to burn calories to keep that beach bod.

There's a coral reef 1.5 miles from the main land - dreamy perfect for snorkeling or scuba.

Check out the nearby historic sites - 16th century Mediterranean village on a dramatic cliff, or the south-east tip of the island for turquoise water.

The dolphins are near for a fun day trip. But you might be too busy making history of your own.

A casino that is the very definition of world-class. You have to see to understand.

Hotel Description

Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa: Noble Beach Prize Winner - Best Beach-o-tainment

Imagine: the water you are standing is so blue, you can't quite believe it's real. Then, as you pad across the soft sugar sand on the way to your hot stone massage you are besieged with passing winks and adoring whispers from attractive, beguiling strangers - who aren't creepy. You like them. After your spa treatment, you savor the blessings of Latin Criollo gourmet cuisine, then look at your watch, and smile: it's only six more hours until the foam party. Time to be bold because topless sunbathing is permitted at pool and the beach - who wants a tan line, anyways?!

At Breathless, this isn't a fantasy. It's time to Live Big. Breathe Deep.
