Blue Horizon

The room was decent was definitely not the Hilton but it was perfectly located. The only thing I was very disappointed in is the fact that they ran out of wash cloths and didnt notify us so we didnt have towels for pretty much the entire time I was there.

My best friend and I spent 2 different vacations here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves both times. We selected Blue Horizon due to the economical price, but Blue Horizon's staff rapidly became like family to us, and treated us with respect and caring. It's very low-key and calm here and being right across the street from a gorgeous beach, it was perfect for us. Rooms were impeccably clean at all times and staff went over and above out of their way to help us at any time of the day or night. The fact that there was no elavator would be the only issue for some people, but it was fine for us... and we were on the third floor(higher location made for better view of the beach from our front of hotel balcony). This hotel felt like home to us in no time, and we would both go back in a heartbeat... and plan to as soon as we can.

My wife and I have different opinions when it comes to our 2009 Barbados vacation: I enjoyed it beyond my expectations, she...not so much. I would go back in a hurry, she...would think about it. One undisputed item: the accommodations at Blue Horizon: great service, excellent location, good value for the money. The sticky point for my wife was the pollution on the island (mostly around the intense traffic on the main road crossing through the heart of the most densely touristy area) and the cleanliness, or lack thereof, in the busiest shopping area of the island, around the main bus terminal and the market place. For me, the overall beauty of the island and the class of various resorts far outweight the negatives. Can't wait to go back (oh yes, I bet she wouldn't let me go alone).

A value for money accommodation. Nothing fancy but they have a great beach right across the street. It is a public beach but it never seemed to get too crowded. You can rent a chaise lounge and umbrella for around $7 US. There is also a nice small reef just off the beach so bring your snorkel gear. It is right next to the Chefette which is both good an bad as you can get some great inexpensive roti or burgers and they are open late, but depending on where your room is you may hear a bit of noise at the take out window.
