Surf's up! The waves are big and breaking just right off Jaco Beach. Located in the hip little town of Jaco, this resort is ideally situated right on the beach, only two hours from San Jos?, Costa Rica's inland capital.

With the wildest party beach at your doorstep, the action is always close. But don't be satisfied with one surf beach! Just to the south is Playa Hermosa, host to an annual surf competition that draws surfers from around the world. Four miles north of Jaco is Playa Herradura, quickly gaining a reputation for great surf.

After surfin' all day, you're sure to have a gnarly appetite, so load up on carbs with pomodoro spaghetti at El Puerto, the hotel restaurant. The Creole tomato sauce loaded with garlic and cheese is irresistible. If nothing but meat will do, try the tenderloin steak smothered in pepper sauce.

A tour desk in the lobby can help you plan activities, from horseback riding to sport fishing. One of the largest wild populations of crocodiles, some as long as 15ft, live in this river. If you're lucky, you may also see a scarlet macaw, an extremely rare tropical bird with gorgeous plumage.

Transfers

Daily transportation to San Jose is provided at a nominal fee. Transfers to and from the airport (for purchase only) are private transfers; guests will be the only party picked up from the airport for transfer to the resort. Rates are valid for round-trip transfers for one to seven passengers.
