Worth every penny
This resort took me by surprise, it was very affordable so in all honesty i was expecting a very cheap looking resort. I was completely surprised when i arrived to this resort the pictures it has does not do it justice. Its beautiful, the beach is gorgeous the sand is clean and the water is crystal blue. The staff as well in the resort were very helpful and attentive. The only things i can honestly say that i wish was a little better would be the food. The timeshare people can be a little annoying but if your honest and tell them your not interested they will leave you alone so overall i would recommend this place to someone else i had a wonderful time.. Also there is no jetskiing being offered here it says on the website that it does but when u get there they will tell you they do not offer it so dont get your hopes up.. great place though worth the price
Be Live Hamaca is a large reort with quite a few amenities. However, they are of poor quality.
BEACH- The beach was overcrowded on a daily basis. Patrons would basically reserve their beach chairs by covering them with a towel, then leave to go eat. There is a huge VIP annex which blocks out the sun by 3 pm leaving the beach dark and cold within an hour.
FOOD-The menu hardly changed. The snack bar had the same food daily, which all too often ran out of food and left many angry, hungry people. The main dining hall served cold food at times, and the satff was slow at cleaning the tables which left many standing around with plates of food in their hands.
STAFF- The staff is extremely slow. From the maids to the servers, from the check in to the bartenders... SLOW! If that is not bad enough, they are pushy. Always busy promoting the VIP club or trying to get you to take pictures. Often there were people with inticing photo props, but they refused to let you take pictures with your own camera.
WATER SPORTS- The water sports aren't free at all. They all require either a monetary deposit, or you must pay to have someone teach you to learn how to use the equipment, which at most other resorts an employee would just assist you with.
ACTIVITIES- The resort was boring. They tried to organize events but failed at keeping the attention of the participants. They did not even attempt to entertain in English. Even the Kraoke was in Spanish only, as well as all the channels on the TV (no closed captions by the way).
POOLS- There are three main pools with several smaller kiddie pools throughout the resort. The infinity pool and the waterfall were great, but the huge pool on the other side of the resort was dirty. Anything that floats could have been found in the water. I'm talking more than leaves and dead bugs here. It was not well kept at all.
RESTUARANTS- The Mexican restuarant was good. Very tasty in fact. There are also Dominican and Italian restaurants avaiable.
ATTRACTIONS- Pedro tours located in the town of Boca Chica, is a great resource. We booked horse backriding which included round trip transport for only $30. We also had a tour of the city and Los Tres Ojos, which is a collection of caves and lagoons, for $25.

Disappointing
The hotel was a BIG disappointment. Old furniture (lumpy beds), broken items in bathroom, no light bulbs in lamps. Only 2 bath towels and NO wash cloths or hand towels. Called housecoming twice with NO response. Patio door was broken and very hard to open and use the patio/balcony. Staff were not friendly or helpful. I can not recommend staying at Be Live Hamaca.
The place needs an upgrade my room was infested with cockroaches.
They need to change the food menu.
Other than that the beach was very pleasant the people were very nice.

Where can I find an affordable all inclusive Family vacation in DR with airfare under 2500?9 answers

The price of airfare is affected by a number of different factors including dates, departure city, and availability. The best tool on our website for this type of search is Cheap Finder. Once travel dates and location are selected, each available resort will have the option for you to view the price for the day you selected, 1 and 2 days before, and 1 and 2 days after.

Try coral costa caribe in Juan Dolio. Be sure you are flying in to Santo Domingo (about 25 minute taxi or van) otherwise you could end up in a three hour bus ride to get there from the other airports. Nice little beach that's protected. They have a day care area and kid pool

From my experience: would not enter country again.

I would not recommend Be Liva Hamaca. The surrounding area seems dangerous and the food at the resort was terrible. We stayed one night and we were able to move to a resort at Punta Canta thanks to the help we received from Cheap Carribean.

Go to Boca Chico to the Be Live Hamaca. You can get an all inclusive with air for 2 for less than that.

At this time, all US Citizens are required to have a valid passport to travel to anywhere outside of the US/US territories. This includes travel to the Dominican Republic. However, as requirements can change frequently, we do suggest you check online for specific travel requirements for the time frame in which you are traveling.

Yes, but nothing to see but sand - perhaps on the other side of the reef - 100 yards out :)
tnlobo420
Yes, there is safe snorkeling here.
Joper
Yes for a monetary fee. The best place to snorkel is near the beach front restuarant named the Pelican.
TLadyB
YES YOU CAN
imelectric
Yes, the water is very clear and protected by a reef. You can take a snorkeling trip for not much money as well. If its wavy or windy, ask them to take you to the mangrove area, rather than the open sea.

They provide diving lessons on property and they also have vendors on property that can set up teh diving excursions for you.
DanielleCC
They can train you how to scuba dive, but I did not witness anyone diving at the property. Right next door, there is a public beach were the natives would dive.
TLadyB
they have scuba shop on the premises. we used Tropical Sea Divers right outside of the resort. Dive sites are about 10-15 minutes from the shore.

Room Information
617 guestrooms overlooking tropical gardens and a white-sand beach. Rooms are painted in bright, tropical colors and have terra cotta tile floors and rattan and wood furniture. Guestrooms are also outfitted with walk-in closets and bathrooms with tub/shower combinations, make-up mirror, hair dryer, air-conditioning, cable TV, coffee maker, iron with ironing board, and a private balcony. The resort purifies its water but recommends drinking complimentary bottled water, which is provided in each room.
The swim-up bar was one of our favorite features at this hotel. Be Live Hamaca's fresh-mint mojitos are definitely a cut above your typical all inclusive drink.
What We'd Change
A nearby cargo port puts a damper on the view from some parts of the resort. Overall, a small price to pay for the value you get.
Why You Should Go
You just can't beat this value: between the spacious deluxe rooms and access to Boca Chica beach's calm, blue ocean, this hotel is a sweet deal.

Hotel Description
Tranquil Waters and Pure White Sand
You've been planning your Caribbean vacation for months and dreaming about it for years. When you're ready for your tropical getaway, you don't want to waste a minute, especially not stuck in a taxi to the hotel. That's the first thing that sets Be Live Hamaca apart: it's just a 10-minute ride from the airport.
In addition to its convenient location, Be Live Hamaca is on one of the most popular beaches in the Dominican Republic. Boca Chica's pure-white sand cushions your feet as you stroll toward the sea. The water, clear and blue, is remarkably calm, thanks to an enormous reef that protects this beach from harsh ocean waves. You can wade out farther than 100 meters before the water becomes waist deep. This warm, tranquil water makes Boca Chica a great beach for parents with young children. That's why the Be Live Hamaca all inclusive packages feature both a kids' club and a mini club, making it a sweet deal for families.
As beautiful as this ocean is, it doesn't have a swim-up bar. Luckily, you'll find one at Be Live Hamaca! With their all inclusive packages, you can have your fill of fresh-mint mojitos as you lounge in one of the hotel's three pools. When it's time for dinner, sample some traditional dishes at Dominican Gourmet. At sunset, head to the open-air theater for nightly entertainment. Then it's off to the casino in search of Lady Luck. Even if she lets you down, a night of dancing in the disco will more than make up for it.
The next day, an appointment at the hotel's spa may be in order. Rejuvenate your tired calves with a massage after a night of non-stop salsa. After an almond-and-honey exfoliation, you're refreshed and ready for jet skiing, scuba diving, bicycling and horseback riding. Or set out on a day trip to explore the Dominican Republic's capital, Santo Domingo, about a half-hour's drive away. Then again, you could just take it easy on one of the hotel's oceanfront canopy beds... it is your vacation, after all.
