Leatherback Turtle Nesting Season: Known as "baulas" in Costa Rica, these are the world's largest reptiles. Las Baulas Marine National Park was created to protect the important nesting beach for the Giant Leatherback Sea Turtle, as well as to conserve offshore areas where these large marine reptiles spend their days during the breeding season. Females come ashore at night to deposit their eggs on beaches. Bright flashlights are forbidden, as they disturb the turtles from laying their eggs. Considering that only 1 of 5,000 sea turtles are going to survive to adulthood, it's very important that they remain as undisturbed as possible while laying their eggs. The only way to see this phenomenon is through guided tours, which fill up quickly. The nesting season at Las Baulas runs from October through February. All visitors must be accompanied by a certified local guide, which are available at the entrance to the beach. Please note that turtle sightings are not guaranteed.

Barcelo Playa Langosta is located on the beach on the Pacific Coast next to the Tamarindo beach area. The small town is 50 minutes from the Liberia International Airport (LIR).

There is a 7 night minimum stay required for travel December 24-31, 2009 and again from March 28, 2010 through April 4, 2010.

A Valid Credit Card may be required upon check-in for possible incidentals not included in your hotel reservation.

Transfer Options: Transfers offered (for purchase only) are private transfers and guests will be the only party which will be picked up from the airport for the transfer to the resort. Rates are charged per person, per stay, round trip.
