Couples trip
It was my first time at this resort . I was happy to be able to know that the resort also offers transportation to and from the airport . That’s always a plus since it is always hard to know which company to use . We had great and welcoming drivers . Registration was snotty since we had book premium and we had the pleasure to have a concierge and I have to thank him for all the assistance he provided during our stay . His name is David . We had ocean front room and the view was breathtaking . Our roommate was amazing . Thank you to the housekeeping staff for always keeping the room clean while we were out. The beach was clean and chairs always available . We were by building 5 . There was no need to worry about not finding a chair to sunbathed. Now if you want to be close the main building and pool then you will have to wake up early to find chairs . I didn’t find the need to do that . The restaurants experience was good . Great costumer service and food was good . I always found Something to eat . I have to say thank you to the staff for making sure our stay at the resort was a great experience .

Wanted to go back home so badly
If I could give this place negative 2 stars i would Firstly, check in was an HOUR and a half.. for what reason??? There are not one but TWO large check in desks with plenty staff at each. Out of about 6 staff only 3 was working to check in and others just looked idle while guests waited in agony in a hot lobby. No welcome drinks upon arrival to even quell the long wait we had! The drinks came 2hrs after and it was SYRUP a extra sweet drink that wasn't refreshing at all. Two: all the standard rooms (superior room) are a drive away from the main attractions such as the pool , restaurants and entertainment. Only suites are on the side with amenities. That's a weird setup to me. We had to pay extra for the upgrade. Upon arriving at the 'suite' it wasn't even worthy of a room tour or pictures if you may. It was dated! And it was not cleaned properly. A hairball was found under the bathroom sink, the grout in the bathroom was black! Seeming to have mildue, the jacuzzi tub wasn't cleaned properly and we found a strand of hair in there. We had to call and have it be cleaned properly with bleach or something. I showered with slippers on and did not let me toddler stand in that tub . The sheets has stains on them and the floor was dirty. This isn't a suite at all . But a Las. We are here and we had to sleep somewhere.. I want to also note that housekeeping does not wait for an answer before entering the room. After one knock she busted the door open and came in I was shocked!! What if we were naked? I worked in hotels for years and it is three knocks and saying hello hello upon entry of the fourth knock to ensure it is safe to come in. That DID NOT HAPPEN . We had to keep the lock in the door just in case . Next. The pool and beach were nice . That is all The food at the buffet was horrible !!!!! Omg my belly hurt so many times! The drinks aren't great and watered down. They didn't have much options as well. The Santa fe restaurant was the saving grace of the ENTIRE hotel. Even the staff were nicer and properly dressed . Speaking of ... the staff aren't friendly at all. Apart from Carla at the Dominican buffet I think, she was sweet . Otherwise no one showed any care to help. If you made eye contact they would look away or walk away. No warm smiles or nothing. From checkin the lack of efficiency or urgency /warm welcome wasn't there at all. There are no managers to speak to. You see no one In a managerial position walking the grounds or checking with guest. Pillows in common areas were never fluffed . That speaks volumes. The attire for the ladies in the restaurants and front office.. any area for that matter needs to be severely addressed. Their skirts are so TIGHT and SHORT. The look unkept and doesn't feel classy at all. Being served by a girl in the theater area , she bent to plave the drink on the table and I damn near saw her cooter!!! What the heck!! Why are their clothes so SHORT AND TIGHT !! THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. They literally walk pulling down their skirts. One restaurant in particular. Strikers, smelled like an old wet mop upon entry and there were flies . The staff were just chatting at the front, posted up at the bar flirting with each other. No welcome, no HOLA!! NO NOTHING tsk tsk. There are no business cards for any leaders at all. The staff just seem to do whatever they want. The nightly entertainment is lame. Michael Jackson needs more energy and pazzaz. Entertainment during the day at the pool is non existent. We were bored. They would start a game late in the evening around 3pm.. people are at the pool from 11am.. am area oof opportunity missed. Shame There are so many things that need to be turned around here. SOOO Many areas of opportunity. There are no standards of service to follow, no care No urgency . This had tained my entire outlook of ever visiting the country ever again. This place needs to be whipped into shape and revamped . Sandals is one you should look to for standards of service, cleanliness and hospitality. I will not recommend anyone to come here . I hope when the gm (if any exists) reads this , please take notes and she with department heads (if any) and before I forget. You have groundsmen.. selling the coconuts that are picked from the trees of the property people pay to stay at all inclusive. For $2 a pop. I believe they might be pocketing the money. I should've told them to charge it to the room and see what the response would be. The only thing I enjoyed was the beach and pool. Barcelo.... You need to do exceptionally better.

this trip was our first vacation of the year, meant to be very nice, quiet, and relaxing. only a few hiccups when noisy neighbor's children from above- during quiet times.

Recommend a 100%
The experience was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and kind. Literally each staff person. The food and service were also amazing. Personally, I would recommend the “Santa Fe” restaurant & “Kyoto” restaurant, both were exquisite and very enjoyable.
