great long weekend option

The new part of the hotel (Palace) is great. That area's restaurants serve very fresh and high quality food. The beach is unbeatable and the drinks great. The service is a weak point. They always take their time to bring whatever you order. Also, hated all these guys bothering people at the beach, trying to sell stuff. Overall, a very good option for a long weekend, or even a week holiday.

Not ready for prime time.

Rooms smelled moldy. Bathrooms in the rooms were gross. Drain was clogged in tub. Food was all the same in all restaurants and there were flies all over the food. The food sits out for hours. Guests were gettting sick all the time including myself. I witnessed a guest getting sick at the beach and it wasn't from over drinking. The beach; however, is beautiful it's just sad this resort is not up to even acceptable standards.

family time

This was a family trip. The families live in different parts of the country ,so it was important to us to have the cousins get together.(ages 4-10). They had a great time at the beach, finding lizards,coconuts,and the pool. They are already asking for anothe "family Vaca". The photographer on the beach too some great pictures,so we have wonderful memories.

Wonder Getaway!

We have been to the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Hotel twice now out of three vacations there. The beaches are beautiful and can't say enough about the service and the swim up bars. There is something for all ages to do. You've got a variety of water sports and night time entertainment plus the food is excellent!

The Adults only Barcelo Bavaro Beach and Convention Center offers a beachfront location isolated at the resort's northern end away from the other four sibling hotels. A convention center is adjacent. Guests of this hotel may dine at all All-Inclusive-plan restaurants spread among the five hotels.

There are many shops at the resorts to purchase anything you need, however film and sunscreen can be very expensive at the resort so make sure you bring it with you.

A lagoon-style pool, water-sports equipment, day-and-night activities, three discos, a multitude of restaurants, and a Vegas-style Latin musical show, which is considered the best in Punta Cana. For those that want to be in a kids free zone, this is now the perfect place.

In 2010, renowned golf course architect P.B. Dye redesigned The Lakes, 18-hole golf course (par 72), to offer some of the most challenging and breathtaking golf in the world. The Lakes features lengths of 6,710 yards for Professional Tees, 6,305 yards for Amateur Tees, and 5,608 yards for Ladies Tees. For guests of Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort, golf cart rental is $40.00 and includes service of snacks and soft drinks or beer while on the course (price subject to change). Walking is not permitted, thus the use of a golf cart is required. Proper dress is required at all times. Avid golfers will appreciate the value of at least one free green fee included every three days during their stay!
