If the Caribbean winds are whispering in your dreams, it's time to hit the snooze button and head to adults-only Barcelo Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana. Recent renovations have transformed this resort and made it easy to realize your dreams, from scrumptious gourmet dining to boogie-'til-you-drop nightlife and one of the Caribbean's top beaches.

Will never go back to a Barcelo resort
I have stayed at Dreams and Secrets all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, and they only reason I went to Barcelo this time was that Dreams and Secrets were booked. Now I see why Barcelo had openings. It is a beautiful property. Rooms as described above - recently remodeled, except the part of the bathroom with the toilet and shower still looked very outdated.
You had to wear a wristband, which at the end of your stay they will stop you at the gate and cut off. As if we would've wanted to come back or something. Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort was not all-inclusive... if you wanted to eat at the other part of Barcelo, you had to pay extra. We saw people paying extra to upgrade their drinks. If we ordered a strawberry daiquiri or pina colada, we were asked "With rum?"
Service was terrible. We asked for coffee and water in the buffet restaurant in the morning - rarely did we get either, and if we did finally get one cup of coffee (but still not the water), we never got a second cup. If you wanted a mocha or cappucino, there was a machine to pay for it! The only time we had quick service to replace a drink was when there was a fly floating in our wine glass. My luggage was taken by somebody else with the same looking suitcase at the airport. Guest services barely spoke English to help, and wouldn't let me call CheapCaribbean, the airline, or the insurance company because they weren't local calls.
Entertainment was poor. We tried to ask at the pool where the entertainment/games were - there's a big sign saying they offer it... No one spoke English well enough to tell us where the games were located! The "show" at the Beach Resort was just two of the staff running a Bingo game, then calling those playing Bingo up on stage to do a dance. The show at the Palace was just dancing that didn't even make any sense.
I will never stay at a Barcelo again - Dreams and Secrets run circles around this place.

Great Time Had By All
My family really enjoyed this vacation. In fact, I returned the following month.
It's a very nice resort. If you want access to the nicer restaurants without paying a supplement, you should spring for a premium hotel in this location.
barcelo bravado beach palace
we stayed at the palace because the convention center was under renovation. it was a beautiful hotel, staff was very friendly, food was excellent, we ate at the italian, mexican, steak, and french restaurants.
it was a wonderful vacation I would definetly return
Stayed here twice and loved it both times. Wished we had stayed here the third time to Punta but didn't and really regret it! Will stay here every time!!!!

Room Information
391 guestrooms offering moderate room accommodations in a social, adults only setting. All rooms are equipped with either two double beds or 1 king bed, hair dryers, air-conditioning, satellite TV, mini bar, coffee maker, iron with ironing board, in-room safe and either a balcony or terrace.
Adjoining, handicapped-accessible, or non-smoking rooms are available upon request and subject to availability.
We love that this adults-only resort is kid-free and nightlife-friendly! The complex's disco is a hotbed of dance-crazed partying until the wee hours. Even better? Drinks are included!
What We'd Change
We wish the sister-property privileges extended to all of the restaurants in the complex, since there are only two dining options directly on-site. Food here is stellar, though, and definitely splurge-worthy.

Golf
In 2010 renowned golf course architect P.B. Dye redesigned The Lakes, an 18-hole, par 72 golf course that offers some of the most challenging and breathtaking golf in the world. The Lakes features lengths of 6,710 yd for the professional tees, 6,305 yd for the amateur tees and 5,608 yd for the ladies' tees. For guests of Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort, golf cart rental is $40.00 and includes service of snacks and soft drinks or beer while on the course (prices are subject to change). The use of a golf cart is required as walking is not permitted. Proper dress is required at all times.
At least one free greens fee is included for every three days you stay at the resort!
Casinos
The 24-hr on-site Casino Bavaro is open for all guests ages 18 and over. The casino features slot machines and table games, including American roulette, blackjack, Caribbean poker and Texas Hold 'Em.
