Great Getaway
Aura was the best resort we've ever visited. With only 87 suites, there was never a wait for dinner or drinks. The resort was clean and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The jeep tour of the island was well worth the money.
We will definitely be back at Aura!
this place was great from the service to the cleanness of the rooms. our room was hugh. the food was very good. it is a very relaxing vac. there is hardly any music or entertainment which i thought would bother me but it didn't at all. you are aloud to use the sister hotel's pools and restaurants which is a few feet away but and this was a big but you can't get any drinks from the bars only if you are eating at the restaurant. they need to make it so you can get a drink when you are there hanging out at the pool or at the beach bar which did have music. you couldn't even pay for them. the spa was 5 star what else can i say. i get massages regularly and this place was quite the place. EXCELLENT! the waters are very rough when you take the ferry over to the main land so be aware of that. the water at the hotel was as clam as can be. not a beach that you just walk in and swim. it is differently a snorkel beach. we saw everything from sting rays to fish that were over 2 feet long just a few feet from our chairs.GREAT! last but not least it is a older crowd (we are 50) and all couples you won't see 20 year olds there! i hope this helps you plan your trip this was one for the records for us and we travel a lot.
MY WIFE AND I SPENT THE WEEK OF JAN.22-29 AT THE AURA.THIS PLACE IS THE MOST RELAXING VACATION WE HAVE ENJOYED.HAVING TRAVELLED THE CARRIBEAN DOZENS OF TIMES THIS IS THE NEW STYLE OF HOLIDAY FOR US.THE GROUNDS ARE BEAUTIFUL,THE SWIMUP ROOMS ARE PERFECT,THE FOOD IS GOOD TO EXCELLENT.THE STAFF ARE VERY ATTENTIVE FOR THE MOST PART AND THE DRINKS ARE TOP SHELF.WE DID AN ISLAND TOUR BY PRIVATE TAXI,WENT DEEP SEA FISHING,RENTED JET SKIS A FEW TIMES AND JUST HAD A BLAST! ALSO MET SOME WONDERFUL PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE USA AND CANADA.THE AURA WILL BE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED FOR A FUTURE HOLIDAY EVEN THOUGH WE ARE NOT ONES TO RETURN TO THE SAME RESORT TWICE.THANKS CHEAP CARRIBEAN FOR HELPING US FIND THE PERFECT HOLIDAY.
The Aura is very layed back - which is nice. The rooms need to be updated. The food was ok - the breakfast was awful. The pools were freezing. The pool/beach service was not exactly great.

Room Information
Each of the 87 hotel rooms is actually a suite. The smallest being a spectacular 750+ square feet. The largest suites are a sprawling 1,500 square feet. All boast an ocean view and have private furnished outdoor space, some even have a personal lap pool. Free Wi-fi, iPod docks, and flat screen HD TVs just make things a little nicer. In the bathroom, marble surfaces, walk-in showers, embroidered robes, and Gilchrest & Soames bath products bring the pampering to new heights. Many have lighted vanity mirrors and spa-style tubs. Most of our ground-floor suites overlook our signature Lazy River and even offer a swim-up feature. We know it's tempting not to, but do venture out of your suite and enjoy all that the property has to offer.
This all-suite resort offers free Wi-Fi access, iPod docks, flat-screen TVs and extensive room service. Aura Cozumel Grand Resort is a Cozumel oasis of earthly delights.
What We'd Change
There are no spa facilities on the premises at the Aura Grand. But the sister resort right next door has an amazing spa ready to indulge you.

Leaving your suite at this resort might be difficult, as every single one of the 87 rooms is an ocean-view suite, ranging in size from 750 sq ft to a sprawling 1,000 sq ft. Brissas translates to breezes, and that's just what you'll feel relaxing at the bar. It's high atop a building and features two Jacuzzis, cold beer and signature cocktails, such as martini melon or martini tangerine. Open 10pm-4pm.
Luna Lounge
The most elegant choice for a nightcap.Offers great views of the Caribbean and boasts intimate seating, friendly staff, and a full bar, with premium liquors and signature cocktails, such as a Don Julio martini or an island mojito. Open noon-1am.
Hava Bar
This one is right on the beach. And it's a great choice for a cocktail in the most casual setting.The bar has wait staff who can bring you a margarita poolside, or even on the secluded beach.
Spa Services
Islander Spa, with more than 7,000 sq ft, features five master individual cabins, five master couple cabins, separate steam rooms for men and women, three Jacuzzis, waiting lounge, VIP reception, beauty parlor with manicure cabins, hairstyling and waxing.
