Awesome Location!

The resort is located right on Orient Beach, and in the heart of Orient Bay Village, which lends itself to great dining and access to grocery stores and small retail shops. This location is prime, so we would consider staying here again! The resort itself was a bit dated, but very clean: it could use a refresh on décor and amenities, especially the bed/mattress [it was one step above sleeping on the floor]. The bed/mattress is really my only complaint. The pool/pool area is reflective of the "dating" as well: small, in need of a new liner and a good cleaning; but, it had plenty of lounge chairs and was always nice and cool. The resort staff was exceptional: friendly, prompt and attentive to all of our needs! There were a lot of stray cats on the property, one in particular - Mikey, the resort "adopted," so if you have allergies, be sure to keep this in the back of your mind.

the perfect hotel

this was our second year at Alamanda. We love the charming and beautiful villa style rooms as opposed to high rise hotels.Just around the corner is a plaza with eight fabulous restaurants and across the street is a grocery store. Although we rent a car to explore the island, it is not necessary at this hotel since everything you will need is available right there. the beach is minutes away and orient beach is the best on the island with all watersports available. beach chairs are included as well..shops and charming bars ans restaurants pepper the beach front as well. this year we took a duplex to accommodate mom. We each had our own room and bath as well as a kitchenette. The continental breakfast is included, crispy french bread and pastries and fresh fruit. Hotel staff were all friendly and helpful.l. we wouldn't stay anywhere else and the Allamanda has spoiled us for future vacations!

Alamanda/ Orient Beach

Excellent Hotel nice rooms and service, nice pool and courteous staff. Beach was nice. Nice restaurants are close but expensive, I never seem to go there when all the beach bars and restaurants are open. Trip went well, we went thru Charlotte rather than Miami this time, so we avoided the insane asylum with barking drill sergeants in charge atmosphere. Overall a good trip.

Just what a Vacation Doctor Asked For...

The hotel is perfect for those that want a quick getaway with a simple plan of sun, swim, and amazing food. Although the hotel doesn't officially have any dining options, there are plenty of places to eat within minutes of your room. If you have a car or grab a cab you can be in Grand Case, where the terrific options for local and french cuisine await you. The continental breakfast provided at the Alamanda is a perfect start to the day to spend time on the beach. There are plenty of cafe or bars to enjoy lunch. The room was clean, bug free, and well A/C'ed. This was my second stay at this hotel and I would definitely recommend it and I will definitely be going back. If you're looking for a 5 star resort with all of the amenities of home + more this isn't the place for you. This is for those that want to forget about home and just relax and enjoy the sun.

What's to Love

Alamanda Resort's rooftop sundeck is a great spot to lie back in lounge chairs and gaze at the stars.

What We'd Change

Eating in St. Martin can be expensive. Fortunately, there's a small grocery market in walking distance from the hotel.

Hotel Description

Alamanda Resort: Viva La France!

Alamanda Resort sits on the French side of the half-Dutch, half-French island of St Martin. But the best part of Alamanda's location has to do with the beach that lies a short walk from your room. The stunning Orient Beach is easily one of the best beaches on the island. That makes this low-rise resort ideal for sunbathers and water sports lovers. Whether you lounge on the pristine white sand beach or snorkel in the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea, everything you do is accented by St. Martin's natural beauty.

Orient Beach offers a variety of water sports. Whether you scuba dive beneath the waves or parasail above them, you will witness the distinctive beauty of St. Martin. Or, if you'd prefer, you can relax in the swimming pool, sunbathe or sip a drink at the poolside bar in the lush tropical gardens. When hunger pangs strike, the Cafe Alamanda offers cocktails and snacks by the pool. Or try Kakao Beach, a beachfront restaurant that grills Creole and European specialties and seafood in a charming, Caribbean atmosphere. If you're feeling adventurous, head into town to try one of the many nearby restaurants.

After a day experiencing the local culture, return to your beautifully furnished, romantic lodging for more relaxation. The magic of this resort is the same French and Dutch touch that have made St. Martin famous. As the night winds down, you have the difficult choice of deciding what to do tomorrow. Ah, well, c'est la vie.

This hotel is NOT All-Inclusive, but does include complimentary breakfast daily. Additional food and drink must be purchased separately.
Unless otherwise specified, all services are available for an additional charge.
